This research aims to correlate the risk factors pointed out by reports on falls produced by repu... more This research aims to correlate the risk factors pointed out by reports on falls produced by reputed institutions with the information of deaths found in the DATASUS database. This resulted in four predominant factors: biological, behavioral, environmental and socioeconomic, in addition to the presence of culture influence and gender concepts. It was also inferred that there is a major impact of the individual's lifestyle on the possibility of falling, such as sedentary lifestyle, use of polypharmacy or alcoholism. With this, it is concluded that, because it is an accident with multiple influencing factors, it must be combated by multiple agentes. Nongovernmental organizations in partnership with municipalities and religious institutions should inform the elderly population of the fall, its causes and consequences. Technological innovations have been constantly developed, not only as theoretical evidences of co... more Technological innovations have been constantly developed, not only as theoretical evidences of concepts, but also bringing short, medium and long term economic and social benefits to society. An example is the use of mobile devices in health. Interesting alternative in well-being and education situations, where there is a need to involve a large number of people and there are difficulties in accessing information, either because of the distance from urban centers or the lack of health professionals and educational actions, especially for the prevention and improvement of quality of life. In this way, this study focuses on: (i) social aspects - access to preventive and health promotion actions through training programs and continuous digital inclusion; (ii) technological - the development of a specific application for the contexts involved in the programs of permanent training and digital inclusion, encouraging action research and teaching applied to real situations, through mobile technologies. Considering the technological advances and the identification of different pedagogical strategies, this paper presents a proposal of online booklet for elderly people about functional exercises.

A indústria de software enfrenta muitos tipos de riscos que fazem com que os projetos de desenvolvimento de software sejam desviados de seu planejamento original-cronograma, prazo de entrega e qualidade final. Portanto, é preciso identificar os possíveis riscos, facilitando o gerenciamento de riscos. Nestes ambientes é importante a utilização de métodos, técnicas e ferramentas para gerenciamento de riscos. Dentro deste contexto, este artigo apresenta a OntoPRIME-ontologia no domínio dos riscos de software.

Yet it is clear that there is a gap in the use of these means in primary health care, in addition to making necessary tools to support decision-making based on evidence collected. In this context, this paper presents the experience of building a mobile decision support system to medical diagnosis using computational intelligence. The discussion approaches the simultaneous application of agile methodologies, applicability of mobile devices in health and use of artificial intelligence systems to support medical decision. The Aedes Aegypti mosquito is the vector of the most difficult public health problems in tropical... more The Aedes Aegypti mosquito is the vector of the most difficult public health problems in tropical and semi-tropical world: the epidemic proliferation of dengue, a viral disease that can cause human beings death specially in its most dangerous form, dengue haemorrhagic fever. One of the most useful methods for mosquito detection and surveillance is the ovitraps: special traps to collect eggs of the mosquito. It is very important to count the number of Aedes Aegypti eggs present in ovitraps. This counting is usually performed in a manual, visual and non-automatic form. This work approaches the development of automatic methods to count the number of eggs in ovitraps images using image processing, particularly color segmentation and mathematical morphology-based non-linear filters.

Resumo: Atividades de saúde primária e básica normalmente são realizadas por profissionais que po... more Resumo: Atividades de saúde primária e básica normalmente são realizadas por profissionais que possuem conhecimento generalizado, e o serviço oferecido neste contexto é essencialmente descentralizado. Mesmo com a inserção de tecnologias em saúde, bem como a aceitação do uso de equipamentos móveis, percebe-se que ainda há uma lacuna quanto ao uso desses meios em saúde básica, além de se fazerem necessárias ferramentas de apoio à tomada de decisão baseada nas evidências coletadas. Nesse contexto, este artigo apresenta uma proposta e a experiência de construção de sistema de suporte à decisão móvel de apoio ao diagnóstico médico utilizando árvores de decisão.
