Outrora era fácil saber quem era meu povo. Se fossemos despidas à nossa força de toda pretensão e nossa carne fosse toda cortada o sol alvejaria todos os nossos ossos tão brancos quanto a face negra de minha mãe 70 Between Ourselves e no qual ele foi primeiramente publicado, sendo republicado em outro livro de poesia anos depois. Para a produção desta tradução foram usadas ambas versões do poema, uma vez que existem pequenas diferenças entre alguns versos e palavras. Ambos foram relançados em Jimmy’s blues and other poems, de 2014, coletânea que reúne sua obra poética completa, já que o autor se tornou mais conhecido por seus romances e ensaios. ABSTRACT: This paper focuses, from a comparative approach, on a selection of literary works from ... more ABSTRACT: This paper focuses, from a comparative approach, on a selection of literary works from Portugal, France and Belgium. In these works, postmemory within a European postcolonial scope appears to be as a key element to understand the memories of colonial times transferred into subsequent generations. Considering a corpora studied within European project MEMOIRS-Children of Empires and European Postmemories (Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra) funded by the European Research Council (ERC). We seek to discuss the multiple textual strategies adopted by the offspring of colonial memories in order to achieve the appropriation, through fiction, of the traumatic experience. We will analyse the different ways adopted by the heirs of the traumatic memories in order to achieve the ownership of experience, according to the kind of relationship which may exist with the direct witness. The latter, since the appropriation of the colonial past undertaken by the writers studied here varies depending on whether the transmission corresponds to a biographical or to a cultural scenario. We will therefore study works by Portuguese writer Paulo Faria, by Belgian author Laurent Demoulin and by French writers Thierry Crouzet and Éric Vuillard. ABSTRACT: Based on an inventory of the contributions from theorists who thought about memory and ... more ABSTRACT: Based on an inventory of the contributions from theorists who thought about memory and the complex representation of the past, we aim to discuss the role of narration and fiction as mediators in the interpretation of the lived experience. The reliability of the reconstruction of the past is called into question, leading us to reflect on the notion of testimony and the issue of truth inherent to it. To compare official memory and individual narratives is necessary in order to oppose authoritarian metanarrative discourses to a more polyphonic history, which seeks to achieve the understanding and overcoming of traumas. We will also see how the theoretical reflection concerning the intergenerational transmission of traumatic memories offers some tools for the interpretation of the so-called
postmemory generation works. Based on these considerations, and given the global health crisis that places us in the position of vulnerable witnesses of a catastrophe, we are led to reflect over the future from a retrospective look into the trauma. ABSTRACT: In this article, the author, a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Foreign Lan... more ABSTRACT: In this article, the author, a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Foreign Languages at one Polish university, shares her teaching experience in contrastive French-Polish grammar. Having taken the utility of the subject for granted, she wonders about the appropriate program and bibliographic references. Using the example of one word class, the author shows that even where two languages have the same categories, there can be variation in terms of how they are used by speakers. This question is not emphasized enough in the available contrastive grammars. RESUMO: Neste artigo, com base numa classe de palavras escolhida, a autora compartilha sua experiência como professora-pesquisadora encarregada das aulas de gramática contrastiva franco-polonesa, em um departamento de língua estrangeira de uma universidade polonesa. Tendo em conta a utilidade do assunto para a matéria, ela questiona o conteúdo e as referências bibliográficas a serem propostas. A autora mostra que, embora as duas línguas tenham formas comparáveis, a utilização que é feita delas não é necessariamente idêntica, assunto que as obras comparativas disponíveis não apresentam. RESUMÉ: Dans cet article, à partir d'une classe de mots choisie, l'auteur partage son expérience d'enseignant-chercheur chargé de cours de grammaire contrastive polono-française dans un département de langues étrangères d'une université polonaise. Tenant l'utilité de la matière pour acquise, elle s'interroge sur le contenu et les références bibliographiques à proposer. Elle montre que même si les deux langues disposent de formes comparables, l'usage qui en est fait n'est pas forcément identique, ce que les ouvrages comparatifs disponibles ne mettent pas en avant. RESUMO: Desde os diversos mesmos pontos e cantigas das encantarias afro-americanas, umbandas, can... more RESUMO: Desde os diversos mesmos pontos e cantigas das encantarias afro-americanas, umbandas, candomblés e catimbós, itans e orikis iorubanos cantam e contam a beleza e a sabedoria da ciência ancestral de povos outrora transatlânticos, mas agora cruzados à gente que somos nós mesmos, vivendo em uma terra cujo nome é uma árvore. A literatura afro-americana apresenta-se como mais um dentre os demais artefatos ancestrais que se tornam palavra viva e incorporada através dos tempos, seja ao longo de versos inscritos em livros da linguagem moderna, ou através de cânticos encarnados traduzidos em diferentes línguas e culturas. Logo, este texto objetiva pensar os saberes e as práticas afro-americanas traduzidas à brasileira, com vistas a refletir sobre como a Orixalidade poética afro-americana transmutou-se de uma mitologia e cosmogonia africana à uma encruzilhada de saberes e práticas marcadas nas línguas, nos corpos, nos movimentos e nos ritmos localizados em diferentes zonas de contato e por pessoas diversas do Brasil.
