This article discusses the concept of appropriation in Visual Arts, particularly in the works of ... more This article discusses the concept of appropriation in Visual Arts, particularly in the works of Nelson Leiner and Marepe. This exploratory research and qualitative approach analyzes how meaningless objects, normally available in popular stores and street vendors, take on new meanings when they are moved to places where Art is discussed. To do so, we used mainly the theorists Bourriaud (2009) and Chiarelli (2001), to discuss the derivations of appropriation in the post-production and citationism. It is well-known that both the popular market and the Art market have become references to contemporary artistic practices, especially after Pop Art, either due to the form of criticism of capitalism or the dazzle with cultural and social exchanges. In this sense, appropriation as an artistic operation proposes the change from the manipulation of raw materials in the construction of images to the manipulation of meanings produced by the grouping of ready-made and the context in which they are presented.

A existencia de datas comemorativas como essa, alem de atentar sobre populacoes vulneraveis e menos favorecidas, tambem possui o papel de representar as diversas formas de ser e agir no espaco social atual. A popularizacao das redes sociais alcanca milhoes de pessoas, causando uma enorme influencia no modo como elas pensam, interpretam e se sentem representadas. As redes sociais alem de ser principal fonte de engajamento e difusao de informacoes e noticias, tambem se fazem presentes nas estrategias de orgaos publicos, fazendo a divulgacao de suas politicas publicas.
