La fabricación y utilización de papel reciclado supone el ahorro de energía, agua y madera, y una menor emisión de sustancias contaminantes a los ríos y la atmósfera. De manera especial, la utilización de papel reciclado evita la tala de árboles para producir papel.

El artículo pretende, en un contexto de crecimiento económico como el actual en América Latina, p... more El artículo pretende, en un contexto de crecimiento económico como el actual en América Latina, plantear algunos de los elementos que hemos aprendido de la implementación de reformas estructurales en la década de 1980 y 1990, tales como la importancia de los factores político-institucionales, la autonomía de los Gobiernos o la noción de crisis y su relación con el éxito de las reformas. Se trata, en última instancia, en el contexto de la gobernanza moderna, de rescatar el papel del Estado, como motor del desarrollo económico, la participación democrática y la igualdad social.

The Armed Forces have played an important role in the progress and setbacks of democratic politic... more The Armed Forces have played an important role in the progress and setbacks of democratic politics in Latin America. The return to democracy and the consolidation of these democratic regimes in the past thirty years, leads us to consider how Latin Americans see the new role that the Armed Forces have to develop in the regional context. To do this, we have analyzed data from four regional polls: Latinobarometer 2011, Public Opinion Project reports, the research conducted by FLACSO in 2010 and survey data of Parliamentary Elites of the University of Salamanca. They show us, although with some differences, that the Armed Forces maintain significant support and confidence of the Latin American citizenship. Citizens show great support for the Armed Forces, highlighting his work with human rights, their role in natural disasters, their organizational and training skills and performance in the context of high levels of crime.

The armed forces have played an important role in the progress and setbacks of democratic politic... more The armed forces have played an important role in the progress and setbacks of democratic politics in Latin America. To do this, we have analysed data from four regional polls: the 2011 Latinobarómetro Report, LAPOP Public Opinion Project reports, the research conducted by FLACSO in 2010 and the University of Salamanca's survey data on the parliamentary elite. These all show us, although with some differences, that the armed forces continue to enjoy significant support and confidence among the citizens of Latin America. Citizens show great support for the Armed Forces, highlighting their work with human rights, their role in natural disasters, their organisational and training skills and performance in the context of high levels of crime.

Educational policies in Spain have been characterized by conflict and continuous changes to legis... more Educational policies in Spain have been characterized by conflict and continuous changes to legislation in the Central State. However, Spain is a decentralized State and the Autonomous Communities (regions) are responsible for implementing secondary education. The article aims at explaining and analyzing how Autonomous Communities have defined their educational models and policies for secondary education based on an unstable state legal framework. The analysis focuses on key elements of State legislation, such as the management methods of schools and the adaptation of policies to social differences between autonomous communities. Based on Zahariadis' multiple streams model, the article concludes by pointing out the importance of the context and its impact on the policies, the relevance of the ruling party's ideology in each Autonomous Community and the involvement of stakeholders in the implementation of secondary education policy.
