La historia egipcia ha sido una temática ampliamente cubierta dentro de las novelas gráficas de g... more La historia egipcia ha sido una temática ampliamente cubierta dentro de las novelas gráficas de género histórico. Como ventaja añadida, los cómics cuentan con un lenguaje visual muy rico que los hace enormemente atractivos para públicos más jóvenes, convirtiéndose así en herramientas adaptadas a su comprensión de la Antigüedad. Sorprendentemente, en muchos casos se alcanza un nivel de recreación casi idéntica a lo que conocemos. Pero no todo pueden ser ventajas. Entre los inconvenientes se encuentran un corpus reducido debido al excesivo grafismo de algunos tebeos, así como la distorsión en la narración de hechos históricos concretos o bien de clichés y fábulas sobre el pasado. Del mismo modo, pocos son los cómics con amplia representación de personajes del sexo femenino, y cuando los hay están excesivamente sexualizados (como es el caso de la serie "Murena" de Jean Dufaux"). A continuación presentamos una pequeña selección de novelas gráficas que se encuentran a nuestro alcance, como divulgadores o como docentes de la Historia del antiguo Egipto, a fin de acercarnos el ámbito femenino histórico desde diversas perspectivas.

In this article, we will look at the concept of reciprocal gifts and gift-exchanges in the corpus... more In this article, we will look at the concept of reciprocal gifts and gift-exchanges in the corpus known as the Amarna letters. In order to observe reciprocity in the Amarna letters, we will ascertain the presence of a return gift for every present sent, as well as the idea of reciprocity in the repetition of said structure of gift-exchange. In the Amarna letters, we bear witness to an important network of contacts established between Near Eastern nations of the fourteenth and thirteenth centuries BCE. The geographical extent of the Amarna letters leaves no doubt about the central part played by the Egyptian kings of this period within the political, economic and social context of the great powers of the Near East. This study will focus on the gift-exchanges within the Amarna letters, taking into account the contextual differences between Egypt and each of its main partners: Babylonia, Assyria, Mitanni, Hatti, Arzawa and Alashiya. We will also consider diplomatic or interdynastic marriages as occasions for gift-exchange, as well as tools used to establish and maintain political and personal alliances between the kings.

The idea behind this paper is to make a comparative study of a series of Anthropological texts an... more The idea behind this paper is to make a comparative study of a series of Anthropological texts and a modern animation picture for younger audiences. The development of the Anthropological method in the beginning of the 20th century was partly encouraged by Bronislaw Malinowski, a Polish author and the so-called "father" of Anthropology. His book, Argonauts of the Western Pacific (1922), settled fieldwork as the main approach to Anthropological research. The animated picture Moana, released in November 2016, is the classic number 56 of the Walt Disney Animation Studios and it is the second of the studio, after Lilo & Stitch in 2002, to take place in the Pacific Ocean. The aim will be to contrast and compare both the book and the animated picture. We will address aesthetic and visual aspects of the movie, as well as its content and contextualization of the events narrated. As a result, it may be possible to attain a better understanding of the visual aspects of teaching and learning.
