Portugal... more The present study debates on the relevance of listing the Baixo Mondego Rice fields, in
Portugal, by the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). The potential applicants are
the Portuguese Municipalities of Figueira da Foz, Montemor-o-Velho, Cantanhede, Soure
and Coimbra. An integral part of the tourism approach to this region should include valuing
the territory of this unique rice-growing landscape, incorporated into the matrix of the
local community as well as highlighting aspects such as traditions, know-how, gastronomy
and sustainable processes should be thoroughly applied. By working in a network, the
Municipalities can catapult the rice fields to a well-deserved place of prominence.

No decurso do Seminário de Turismo Patrimonial e Paisagens Culturais abordou-se a temática do Jar... more No decurso do Seminário de Turismo Patrimonial e Paisagens Culturais abordou-se a temática do Jardim Histórico. A introdução do conceito de paisagem cultural e a sua evolução, são o ponto de partida para o presente estudo. Os Jardins fazem parte da vida e do sonho da humanidade desde tempos imemoriais. Os monumentos e a sua salvaguarda, essencialmente após a 2ª Guerra Mundial, abrem o olhar à importância dos espaços de memória, onde se inserem os Jardins. Com a elaboração da Carta de Florença em 1981, o Jardim Histórico ganha um novo estatuto, mais protegido, valorizado e divulgado, tendo uma participação muito ativa na vida da sociedade civil e na interpretação da mesma. Efetuou-se uma revisão do estado da arte, por forma a compreender o processo evolutivo do enquadramento teórico, As metodologias de investigação incidiram na análise bibliográfica, investigação documental, bibliográfica e fotográfica dos Câmara Municipal da Figueira da Foz, e recorreu-se a alguma informação da netnografia. Por fim foi efetuada uma entrevista estruturada por escrito ao Sr. Vereador da Cultura do Município da Figueira da Foz. Pretende-se responder aos objetivos colocados, os quais consistem na compreensão da evolução da importância da paisagem cultural adaptada ao Jardim Histórico, em termos nacionais e internacionais e perceber a importância da Carta de Florença. Também a compreensão de conceitos associados ao turismo de Jardins Históricos e a sua trajetória bem como o conhecimento da história do Jardim Municipal da Figueira da Foz (JMFF) e a sua dinâmica da intervenção paisagística no JMFF, finalizam os objetivos deste trabalho. Ao avaliar a potencialidade do turismo de jardins numa perspetiva holística, passamos à análise da Palestra do passado dia 23 de Abril pelas 17.00h, efetuada pela Dra. Susana Silva, autora da Tese de Doutoramento: Lazer e Turismo nos Jardins Históricos Portuguesesuma abordagem geográfica. Foram abordados os artigos da Carta de Florença enaltecendo o Jardim Histórico, e abordou-se a temática internacionalmente, como por exemplo Kew Gardens no Reino Unido e a sua potencialidade turística, apropriada a todos os aficionados quer por flores quer por plantas, pagando quantias já avultadas para ter essa experiência. Foi introduzido o termo recurso turístico aplicado aos Jardins, e o modo de gestão que pode ser aplicado. Os Jardins Portugueses foram elencados bem como a sua inclusão em Rotas espalhadas por todo o país, tendo por base o trabalho da Associação Portuguesa dos Jardins Históricos. É interessante apercebermonos que em tempos passados já existiam jardins sustentáveis, pois em vários casos, as flores e plantas aí produzidas eram também vendidas in loco, possibilitando as intervenções de manutenção requeridas. As propostas para o futuro foram também apresentadas. Posteriormente abordou-se o caso específico do Jardim Municipal, o qual celebra o seu 130º aniversário a 13 de Setembro próximo. Precedeu-se à recolha de informação na imprensa da época, o que permitiu perceber a sua composição inicial, a qual foi sendo alterada ao longo do tempo. Foi possível elaborar uma tabela com as plantas identificadas. Chegados ao século XXI, o Jardim sofre uma intervenção brutal, que o descaracterizou. Na atualidade está a ser alvo de nova intervenção, com abate de árvores e transplante de algumas. O Sr. Vereador da Cultura do município da Figueira da Foz acredita que será de novo dignificado. Haverá lugar a uma classificação e atribuição de certificação? Revisão da Literatura Este estudo começa por efetuar o enquadramento teórico do tema em análise, jardins Históricos. Começamos por perceber o conceito de paisagem. A Bíblia faz referência logo no capítulo do Genesis, ao Jardim do Edém, "E plantou o SENHOR Deus um jardim no Éden, da banda do Oriente, e pôs ali o homem que tinha formad9o. 9 E o SENHOR Deus fez brotar da terra toda árvore agradável à vista e boa para comida" (Bíblia Sagrada, p. 24). No século VI a.C, o Rei Nabucodonosor, manda construir os Jardins Suspensos na Babilónia, ficando conhecidos como a obra mais emblemática do seu reinado por toda a Mesopotâmia. A obra é considerada uma das Sete Maravilhas do Mundo Antigo, não existindo contudo, vestígios arqueológicos. Compostos por terraços construídos em patamares, dando a ilusão de estarem suspensos, cobertos por jardins com imensas árvores de fruto, esculturas e cascatas de água. Os terraços eram a9poiados por gigantescas colunas.

The following workk aims to analyze the use of highly salted water from traditional Portuguese Saltapans in Figueira da Foz, in thalassotherapy and its impact on local and regional tourism. Some cientific article reviews shall be presented, as well as an analysis of three case studies in Portugal. This paper work complements itself through the case study of the Saltpan from the Municipality of Figueira da Foz, with all its aspects, culminating in its Spa, the Pedarium. The definition goals applied to this work will contribute to elaborate a final analysis, in order to understand the course, feasibility and success of this activity, with special focus on the saltpans of Figueira da Foz.

This study aims to implement a Green Seal, sustainable at various levels, in the territory of th... more This study aims to implement a Green Seal, sustainable at various levels, in the territory of the Estuary of the River Mondego, in Figueira da Foz, with a performance in salt pans and their products increasingly valued, both by public and private entities. The introduction of such a label faces as well as its legal framework are hereby addressed. The research methodologies were, in some cases, carried out with local stakeholders, using questionnaires, and interview, among others. The goals of the present study, aim to determine the feasibility and interest of this implementation in these products and Salinas, as well as the strengthening concept of Sustainable Tourism in the “Salgado Figueirense”. Both the interest and growing demand of tourists for the territory, as well as for the traditional products, will lead to an increasing awareness of the importance of the green and eco concept in Salinas and endogenous products.

This paper is based on the Lecture: Cultural Landscapes - Tourist Attractions in the Pandemic Con... more This paper is based on the Lecture: Cultural Landscapes - Tourist Attractions in the Pandemic Context, given by Dr. Odete Paiva, curator of the Grão Vasco Museum in Viseu, within the framework of the Seminar on Economics and Management: Offering of Tourist Products in the Masters degree on Tourism, Territory and Heritage. This view is the perception of digitization in museums in the light of cultural tourism, during the COVID-19 pandemic, showing its weaknesses and the way to overcome them. Innovation, new dynamics and imagination were the common emphasis on both case studies presented here, confronting a national museum with a city council museum.
