Global Warming and the “flat Earth” movement were discussed during the practical activity in the classroom, in which students debated arguments and counterarguments relating to both themes. Participants answered questionnaires before and after the roundtable to better assess the personal and group perceptions of the experiment. The results show that the experience deepened the students’ knowledge on geosciences history, using documentary and scientific studies to relate to and to debate the topics discussed. The results of the activity contributed to increase the participants knowledge on Historical Geology, bringing new perspectives and modifying preconceptions about the topics discussed. The experiment highlights the importance of disseminating the history of Science and the scientific methodology for the development of critical cit...

Vermiculite mineralization is associated with structurally controlled hydrothermal alteration processes in phlogopite-rich maficultramafic intrusions hosted by granodioritic orthogneisses. In this research, we use airborne magnetic and radiometric data to characterize known deposits and select possible targets in the study region. First, we measured magnetic susceptibility on drill cores to define ore correlation with magnetic responses. Second, we selected known deposits to establish airborne geophysical signatures related to the mineralization. Magnetic data was used to enhance shallow sources and map intrusion extents and fertile structural zones. Radiometric data was used to map mafic-ultramafic rocks of low responses. Magnetic anomaly amplitudes were quantified and correlated to three types of known deposits. Based on the correlation, 59 potential targets were selected and prioritized.
