
Jack P . D . Magnus
Jack is the Clean Energy Association of BC's Senior Government Relations Advisor. He was previously on Global Public Affairs' Energy, Environment and Resources team, where he provided policy, regulatory, and government relations services across various industries including renewables, hydrogen, ports, tourism, post-secondary, and mining. His work focuses on reconciliation, environmental assessment, and electrification.
In his previous role as CEBC's Coordinator of Engagement and Operations, he was responsible for the management of 110+ members (e.g. Independent Power Producers, First Nations), policy submissions and briefs, media relations, events (e.g. First Nations Energy Summit, Generate Conference), and engagement strategies.
As a gold medal graduate from UBC’s Political Science Department, Jack is an adaptable policy analyst that emphasizes collaboration between political science and natural resources conservation. His honours thesis on meaningful Indigenous consultation during environmental assessment earned him a nomination to the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal Program for Inclusion, Democracy and Reconciliation.
Some of Jack's recent volunteer roles include Vice-Chair of the Fraser Marine Rescue Society, Advanced Crew with Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, and Fast Rescue Boat Driver with Refugee Rescue.
