After specializing in contemporary history at the Faculty of History and Philosophy of Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, I was a M.A. Erasmus fellow at the Universite Paris IV - Sorbonne, under the supervision of prof. Jean-Paul Bled.
In 2005 I obtained a joint Ph.D. from Paris IV - Sorbonne and Babes-Bolyai University, with a research on political, cultural and economic relationships between Romania and Vichy France.
I was a fellow of the ,,Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie'' (AUF) between 2002 and 2004.
My present research projects focus on cultural and intellectual history and on the history of universities in interwar Romania, as well as French-Romanian relationships, particularly in the first half of the XX-th century and during the Second World War.

It discusses several examples of Romanian intellectuals who studied at the Ferenc József University of Kolozsvár/Cluj, a Hungarian language institution of the Austro‐Hungarian Empire, and who after 1919, in the aftermath of World War I, were appointed university professors at the King Ferdinand I University of Cluj, the Romanian language University of the same Transylvanian city. Our
analysis highlights the similarities and differences between the academic careers and personalities of the professors Valer Moldovan (Law), Vasile Meruțiu (Geography and Geology) and Iuliu Hațieganu (Medicine), providing useful tools for understanding the creation and evolution of the Romanian academic milieu/world.
