FAQs

1. What is the UAVProf Drone Simulator?

The UAVProf drone simulator is a professional online platform designed for UAV operators to master their piloting skills. It provides the most realistic flight simulator experience, allowing you to train like a real pilot without the real-world risks. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the simulator helps you build muscle memory and confidence. It features photo-realistic graphics and a physics engine where the virtual drone responds to temperature, humidity, wind, rain, and the fog.

2. What kind of graphics and environments are included?

Experience a realistic environment where you can set the scene from calm daylight to windy nights, rain, or dense fog. Our designers have crafted stunningly detailed digital worlds, complete with glowing city lights, flashing traffic signals, flying birds, and shimmering reflections on the water. You can explore 6 large digital worlds covering up to 20 square kilometers each. These diverse landscapes range from cityscapes and countryside to construction sites, agricultural fields, forests, and more.

3. What types of new drones can I fly in the simulator?

You can fly over 20 digital twins of drones from top global manufacturers. The platform supports three main UAV types: multirotor, fixed-wing, and the VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) models. Whenever you want to test new drones before purchasing them in real life, the simulator allows you to understand every model’s unique behavior. You can practice with the Agro R30, Agras T10, MR 801, and many other drones to learn different flying techniques safely.

4. What missions and tasks are available for the pilot?

Users can choose from more than 20 practical missions developed by leading industry experts. You can start with basic maneuvers such as takeoff and landing, pitch, roll, and yaw. Once you master the basics, you can move on to real-world tasks like digital mapping, industrial monitoring, cargo delivery in a burning forest, construction site inspection, agricultural crop treatment, drone racing, and more. The simulator prepares you for the exact challenges you will face in professional operations.

5. How do I configure settings and connect my RC controller?

You can easily customize the settings to operate drones either manually or via autopilot. The simulator supports integration with the two leading open-source autopilot platforms: PX4 and ArduPilot. Flights can be performed in both first-person (FPV) and third-person views. To get the best experience and build true muscle memory in the flight simulator, our team recommends using real RC controllers such as Radiomaster, TBS Tango, Jumper, or FrSky Taranis.

6. Does the simulator support programming and autonomous flight?

Yes, it does. The simulator includes a built-in programming module that lets users develop custom algorithms for the drone control. You can practice programming new behaviors such as swarm coordination, computer vision (reading ArUco markers to center the virtual drone), and collision avoidance. Additionally, QGroundControl is fully integrated, providing an open-source platform for managing and executing autonomous drone missions seamlessly.

7. Can I use the simulator for digital mapping and photogrammetry?

Absolutely. You can use the drone simulator to conduct aerial photography of site excavations, sunflower fields, or small villages. You can then easily import the geotagged photos you captured into professional photogrammetry software like Metashape. This allows you to generate precise digital terrain models and orthophotos, making simulator your essential tool for mastering digital mapping workflows.

8. What are the technical requirements to run the simulator?

To run the flight simulator smoothly, you need a PC with Windows 10, 11, or Ubuntu 22.04. The minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-12500 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600x processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia 3060 Ti GPU with 8GB VRAM. For optimal graphics performance and to handle the complex physics settings, we recommend an Intel Core i5-13500 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, 32 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia 4070 GPU. For more detailed info, you can check the technical specifications section on our homepage.
