EL SIMBOLISMO DE LAS AVES EN LA CULTURA MAPUCHE WILLICHE: UNA APROXIMACIÓN SOCIO-SEMIÓTICA, 2022
Nuestro trabajo propone que el análisis de motivos ornitológicos en la cultura mapuche... more Nuestro trabajo propone que el análisis de motivos ornitológicos en la cultura mapuche muestra un sistema simbólico denso en significados. Para atender a la hipótesis definimos como unidades de análisis motivos ornitológicos del simbolismo mapuche, estos es, las
aves raki, choñchoñ, choyke, chukaw y ñamku. Reconstruimos el universo de sentido (contexto semántico y pragmático) en el que opera el simbolismo de las aves mediante el análisis semiótico, la perspectiva de arqueología de símbolos y los principios de la teoría de éstos. Asimismo , proponemos la noción constelaciones semióticas para estudiar las relaciones de significación que permiten la lectura y funcionamiento de los ornito-símbolos, cuyos elementos obran como nodos donde convergen múltiples dimensiones de sentido. Para el análisis empleamos el estudio de casos múltiples y en ellos planteamos explicaciones minuciosas y contextualizadas de las complejas tramas de significación que se organizan en torno a las formas simbólicas vinculadas a las aves. Los resultados evidencian, por ejemplo, un sistema de símbolos denso en significados asociado a los pájaros que trabaja como mediador entre el sistema religioso cosmovisionario mapuche y las acciones concretas de quienes componen ésta cultura.

Our work proposes that the analysis of ornithological motifs in the mapuche culture shows a symbolic system dense in meanings. To attend to the hypothesis we define as units of analysis ornithological motives of the Mapuche symbolism, these are the birds raki, choñchoñ, choyke,
chukaw and ñamku. We reconstruct the universe of meaning (semantic and pragmatic context) in which the symbolism of birds operates through semiotic analysis, the perspective of archeology of symbols and the principles of the theory of these. We also propose the notion semiotic constellations to study the relationships of significance that allow the reading and operation of ornito-symbols, whose elements act as nodes where multiple dimensions of meaning converge. For the analysis we use the study of multiple cases and in them we propose detailed and contextualized explanations of the complex plots of meaning that are organized around the symbolic forms linked to birds. The results show, for example, a system of symbols dense in meanings associated with birds that works as a mediator between the Mapuche cosmovisionary religious system and the concrete actions of those who compose this culture.
