Derek Humphreys is a full professor at the Department of Psychoanalytical Studies, where he directs the Professional Masters in Clinical Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis of the Social Bond (psychopathologie et psychanalyse du lien social). His research is carried out within the Centre de Recherches en Psychanalyse, Médecine et Société (CRPMS) laboratory. He is also director of the Centre d'Etudes du Vivant, one of the interdisciplinary centres of the Institut des Humanités, Sciences et Sociétés at the Université Paris Cité. He published the book "En rue. Trajectoires psychiques et dispositifs cliniques de l'exclusion" (Paris, Ithaque, 2023) and he created in 2019 an international research network on Deligny's work with Brazilian, German, Argentinian, Chilean and French philosophers and psychoanalysts. He has published many articles on psychosomatics, transference, figurability and contemporary institutional practices in psychoanalysis. He has been invited lecturer at the Universidad de Chile (FACSO) and the Universidad Diego Portales (Chile). He is a qualified psychoanalyst in private practice in Paris.
