Dr. Paul Muntean

Paul is a seasoned cyber security expert & researcher with over 15 years of diverse experience in industry, academia, research, & development that is deeply passionate about IT security. His commitment extends beyond the typical workday, as he actively seeks to explore, research & implement cutting-edge technologies, software architectures, & cyber defenses. Known for his mission-driven approach, Paul excels in team environments where he can engage in discussions, mentorship & management. His innovative thinking, coupled with a preference for collaborative work, enables him to tackle technical challenges with ease and thrive under pressure. Always eager to learn, grow, and support others, Paul actively participates in cyber security research and engages with industry and academic experts to enhance his/their expertise in system security design and mitigation. Driven by a desire for efficiency & timeliness, Paul dedicates himself to making significant contributions to his team. His ultimate passion is to continually improve his skills while aiding in the development of those around him.

In the past, Paul mentored during his academic tenure over 50 students for their BSc., & MSc. theses (both from TU Munich, Germany & Technion, Israel) across diverse projects topics, facilitating their internships in many cases at renowned international tech (FAANG) companies. Additionally, Paul has a track record of successful publications in top tier security conferences and journals.

Currently, beyond his job, Paul focuses on topics about secure SW systems development & how to tackle real-world IT security problems, driven by challenges that fuel his motivation & passion. His detailed cyber security, SW architecture, & various security protocols knowledge allows him to continuously learn and expand his knowledge horizon. For example, he is currently immersing himself in ML / deep learning, LLMs, and various cutting edge cyber security research (see CCS, USENIX Sec., S&P, and NDSS conferences) topics.
