Choosing money over power is such a great waste of talent; a mistake nearly everyone makes. Money is the Mc-mansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after 10 years. Power is the old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who doesn't see the difference.

Max Weber is unanimously regarded as the most important exponent of Bureaucracy. But turning the knob on time machine further back, the functioning of this machinery of government has been an interesting subject matter of discussion since the time of registered history. Many insightful observations about the working of public organization and government can be traced back to a long historical background in Europe and Asia. This makes bureaucracy both an ancient governmental activity and a fairly new academic discipline.
This article starts with the brief discussion into the concepts of Bureaucracy, followed by the ideas from Weber, and touches on the Aristotle’s views of government, and attempts to rediscover the concept of “bureaucracy” with Kautilya’s “Arthasastra”.
