this module looks unmaintained. Maybe this can be deprecated and eventually removed if no one benefits from it?

Rook doesn't use this? (I don't know, I had the vague impression that it does use it.)

It would be great to drop this module because this pulls in https://pypi.org/project/rsa/, and old, poorly-maintained cryptography module.

Last time I discussed this topic with the Rook team there was a lack of interest in having this module enabled. The way I understand it is that Rook devs and admins using Rook expect to interact with rook through k8s APIs, not a ceph specific interface that wraps those APIs. However, I do think some users used it.

Let's see if the `@` stuff works on this version of redmine...
