“A Bee-utiful collaboration…Bees were one thing that the staff at the Library felt the Library was missing. Then the Comal County Beekeeper Association (CCBA) came to the Library to provide a beekeeping presentation to the public. With a hive mind, a partnership was formed. Funded by donations in memory of Phyllis Bigby, “Beekeeper Par Excellence,” the Apiary was built, and two beehives were installed. With CCBA’s mentorship and beekeeping classes, the Library is now one of the few in the U.S. with an active Apiary.
