MPC 'Silver Dollar' Saloon (Cabin v.1) - Brown / Red / Yellow SP

Back in March 2023 I covered all the MPC Old West buildings I had at the time. A year later, this cabin was offered to me by one of the guys in the Meta (facebook) train groups. He got it with a bunch of trains and this just wasn't his forte'. Here we are now, a year after that and I'm finally circling around again to Western posts. I'm calling this a 'saloon' because that's what I associate with any building that has 'SILVER DOLLAR' emblazoned on the front door! It's in the style of what I've designated a 'version 1' cabin or structure - those MPC cabins that were made with interchangeable fronts fitting over a sturdy heavy-grade soft viny plastic wall set. This example is excellent in that its front door is still intact. Far too often the front doors go missing as they easily break from the wall due to their flimsy hinges. Be Blessed and Relish Life! PIRATES: Captain Blood vs. The Red Coats - Pt 3 FINAL

Had some car problems yesterday that took the wind out of my sails for posting anything. Speaking of wind in the sails, here's the last installment of the Captain Blood and The Buccaneer set-up with it's wonderful ships and assorted Pirates and Red Coats. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

The stockade could use more interior details but this whole setup was done without any additional pieces other than the landforms

PIRATES: Captain Blood vs. The Red Coats - Pt 1

Setting up the Captain Blood and The Buccaneers playset was the last thing I did with the Pirate toys before packing it all away. It was a lot of fun and my grand daughter even helped with the set-up! The board this was set up on was meant for our seasonal train displays but it was a lot of fun putting it to use for the playsets before breaking out the trains. Here's the first group of shots from that little adventure. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

PIRATES: Marx (of Miami) Captain Blood and The Buccaneers Set #4794 (1992) - Pt 6 Toy Street MPC Recast Small Pirate Ship

We're winding down our series on Pirate toys - at least until I can add to the collection.

Another fine example of how just a few applique's and some string can bring this toy out of the ordinary. It's funny how Toy Street gave the smaller ship the "HMS Shark" moniker implying that this was a ship of the Royal Navy, while the larger ship belonged to the pirates! Okay, I get it, it's a toy. So - Enjoy! Opa Fritz

The length of string provided was used for the anchor and maybe thicker string would have been more appropriate, but I was thinking, "What would a kid do once they opened the box and saw the contents?" - yeah, the kid would probably just use the string that was included - if they bothered to tie the anchor to the boat to begin with.

The applique' for the Union Jack was printed incorrectly, thereby not allowing for graphics on either side. Unfortunately I didn't have any self-adhesive printer paper to print out a mirror image and rectify the problem

Here's the sheet of applique's

The two images of the Union Jack are exact copies, if you try to place one behind the other they will not line up

This is the flipped image and how it should have been printed on the sheet
