What the service provides:
The external Quikwit API hosts the generative AI model responsible for answering visitor questions, which is trained on your website’s data.
Data Sent to the Quikwit API:
Site Content (One-Time / Update):
Data Sent: Your website’s publicly available text content (pages, posts, and specified URLs) is sent to the Quikwit API.
When Sent: This occurs only during the initial chatbot setup (training) and subsequently when you manually trigger a content synchronization/re-index in the plugin settings. This content is used only to train your specific chatbot’s knowledge base.
Visitor Conversation Data (Per Interaction):
Data Sent: The visitor’s input question, the current conversation history (to maintain context), and the originating IP address (used for rate-limiting and regional performance routing).
When Sent: This occurs every time a website visitor interacts with the Quikwit chatbot widget.
