Dr. Ambarish Vasant Khare is an Assistant Professor of Sanskrit in the SBL Centre of Sanskrit and Indological Studies, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be a University), Pune. He holds a formal degree in Ayurveda (BAMS) and has completed MA and PhD in Sanskrit. Vedic Studies, Ayurveda, Indian Epigraphy and Manuscriptology, Southeast Asian Cultures are subjects of his interest and research.

that the donation was given to a Karahataka Brahmapa. The palaeography suggests that this copperplate
can be dated to c. fifth-sixth century ad, which makes it one of the very early copperplates in Maharashtra.
