Mermicorno: Starfall
Inspired by tokidoki’s hit Mermicorno character family, Mermicorno: Starfall is a smart and fun adventure-comedy for kids that takes place in a magical undersea world, where a team of Mermicornos (enchanting unicorn-mermaids) band together to save the ocean from an evil threat. The show follows heroes – led by Astra, the most powerful Mermicorno – as they explore the magic of creative self-expression and forge deep friendships, all while searching for the best bowl of ramen in the sea. Showcasing the wonders of the natural world, this is the first animated series to bring tokidoki’s underwater universe to life.
Created and produced by Atomic in partnership with tokidoki, the series first premiered in January 2025 in the US on HBO Max, and ranked #11 in the Kids and Family category of the streamer shortly thereafter. The series also premiered on YTV and STACKTV’s Teletoon+ (Canada), Max and Discovery Kids (LATAM), POP (UK), and Cartoon Network in Southeast Asia, and ejunior has licensed the series in the Middle East.
Along with distribution deals, tokidoki launched the Mermicorno: Starfall game on Roblox in collaboration with Space Junk Studios. In addition, Thunderbird Brands has partnered with Jazwares as the global master toy licensee for Mermicorno: Starfall, and together, unveiled an exclusive Mermicorno: Starfall 12” Powered Up Astra Collector Edition plush at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2025. Thunderbird Brands has also appointed Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, a renowned international producer, distributor, and licensor of children’s animated and live-action content to represent the brand Mermicorno: Starfall in the Canadian market, covering all major categories outside of toys and publishing.

Molly of Denali
Since its 2019 premiere, Molly of Denali has been recognized as the first nationally distributed children’s series in the United States to feature an Indigenous lead character. The series follows the resourceful Molly Mabray, who has cultural heritage from three Athabascan groups: the Gwich’in, Koyukon and Dena’ina, as she helps her parents run the Denali Trading Post in interior Alaska. Molly of Denali encourages positive representation both onscreen and offscreen. More than 100 Alaska Native and Indigenous people have contributed to the PBS KIDS series as writers, producers, actors, musicians, advisors and animators – breaking new ground by changing the production model from tokenism to true collaboration.
