In the summer of 1940, around 3,000 Czechs who had been evacuated from France arrived by British convoy in the port of Liverpool.

Why yes I strongly believe in the ruthless competition of free market capitalism. I believe we need to import infinite low-wage labor to subsidize uncompetitive businesses I own while also banning all Chinese products from our markets. You've never met a capitalist like me.
And while we're at it, I believe the government needs to do everything in its power to prevent large companies from going bankrupt or the markets falling into recessions. Bankruptcy and the business cycle are simply not parts of the ruthless capitalism that I believe in.

Because sequential disk writes are extremely fast. Random writes are deadly.
This tiny idea powers durability in PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, and many distributed databases.

So why don’t we see an overwhelming body of large, preregistered, blinded, adequately powered, independently replicated trials demonstrating it?

The interesting part is what happens when study quality improves.
In this thread, I’m going to apply exactly the standards critics demand of conventional medicine to homeopathy and the broader alternative-health industry:
Randomization.
Blinding.
Preregistration.
Adequate statistical power.
Transparent reporting.
Independent replication.
No appeals to Big Pharma.

That seems like a reasonable question.

It would be inaccurate to say:
“Homeopathy has never been studied.”
It has.
There are randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses of homeopathy.
The more revealing question is:
Why hasn’t that research produced a convincing, reproducible signal that becomes stronger as study quality improves?
A well-known 2005 Lancet analysis compared 110 placebo-controlled homeopathy trials with 110 conventional-medicine trials.
Both literatures showed a familiar phenomenon: smaller and lower-quality studies tended to report larger benefits.
But when investigators restricted the analysis to larger, higher-quality trials, the estimated homeopathy effect was no longer convincingly different from placebo, while the conventional interventions retained evidence of specific treatment effects. (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16125589)

If you net FFO from total payout you see there was $69m in Q2 and $140m in H1 2026 left over (in red). This went towards debt repayment. This amount left over was almost exactly the same amount of dividends paid.
So for all the haters who struggle with the numbers this is really simple, Peyto had the capability to pay double the dividends with free cash (unlike other NG companies who debt funded their dividends) in Q2 and H1 2026.

Pfizer not only hid the SV40 elements present in the plasmid used to produce its mRNA vaccine, but it DELIBERATELY chose a plasmid KNOWN to have functional SV40 elements to drive gene expression.
That means:
▶️The EMA lied.
▶️The TGA lied.
▶️Pfizer lied.
The two SV40 cassettes (inserts derived from one of the most carcinogenic viruses known) are in that plasmid because they were DESIGNED to maximise gene expression - going all the way back to 1980.
The problem is that they MUST NOT be used in human biological products because of the risk that when the DNA is "inactivated" (chopped up by DNAases), those elements are free to enter your cells and cause havoc - cell dysregulation with a significant risk of cancer.
They used these plasmids because they could get the most product out of their vats of poo (E Coli), not caring about the impact on the population but about profit vs expenditure.
Not only is that criminal in itself but lying to the EMA that "there were no functional elements" compounded the crime, because it was fraud. The elements are deliberately functional - even though they don't code for a separate protein, because they drive maximal gene expression. Exactly what you don't want in human cells.
The annotations below are from the EMA document submitted by Pfizer in 2020 - knowingly hiding the functional SV40 elements. After multiple warnings from people like @Kevin_McKernan and @DJSpeicher the EMA and TGA "investigated" but then lied about the elements, declaring them non-functional.
All to protect their own interests.

Nike's Consumer Direct Acceleration severed roughly 50 wholesale relationships, pulling product from Foot Locker, Macy's, DSW and the regional running specialists, and concentrating revenue through its own stores and applications. Heaf describes part of the outcome on his own résumé: a business grown from $10.4 billion to $22.3 billion, 45,000 employees, 41 countries. 🚨 ROCKTON, ILLINOIS: 8-MONTH-OLD FRENCH BULLDOG COLLAPSES AND DIES FROM EXTREME HEAT WHILE UNDER AN OFFICER’S WATCH - OWNER PLEADS FOR OVER 30 MINUTES FOR HELP
On a hot, 97-degree day, Collazo Gonzalez was pulled over for speeding and detained for driving with a suspended license. Gonzalez stated that he did not know his license was suspended.
Officers detained him and instructed him to call a family member for a ride because his vehicle was going to be towed.
We requested all camera footage through an open records request to find out exactly what happened next.
The result was a clear message from Rockton PD to me and my team:
“You’ll only get what we want to send you.”
They redacted nearly the entire written report. They also redacted very strange portions of the bodycam footage, including a portion where, allegedly, Gonzalez’s aunt was telling the officer over the phone to at least give the dog some water. She also told the officer, “The dog is gonna die if they don’t do anything.”
There were other portions of the bodycam footage that were redacted as well.
Gonzalez was pulled over at 12 : 40 pm. When he was pulled over, Kody, his 8-month-old French Bulldog, was already panting.
When officers removed Gonzalez from the vehicle, they left Kody inside the non-running car for more than 20 minutes. During the process, Gonzalez asked if they could please put Kody in one of their police cars.
He was ignored.
At 1 : 02 pm, Kody was finally placed in the back of the police vehicle with Gonzalez. The AC was not on.
When one of the female officers came to check on them, Gonzalez begged her for air. She turned on the air, but it was not cold.
For the next 15–20 minutes, you can see Kody in visible distress. I have looked over every minute of this footage. And I cried.
I haven’t cried watching bodycam footage in a long time. This made me cry.
And if anyone wants the file, I’ll happily provide it.
Then, approximately 30 minutes after being placed in the back of the hot police vehicle, another male officer finally comes to speak to Gonzalez.
