The Sherlock Holmes of code
oh hai, I'm Thom!!
A Gen-X/Millennial cusp (Xennial), I'm old enough to remember life before the internet but not (quite) old enough to have seen Nirvana live. Or, as my wife puts it, I adapt to technology like a Millennial but get angry about it like a Boomer.
I am not the restaurant chain in Liverpool, the champion Triathlete from Chorley, or the high sheriff of Lancashire.

I am a creative technologist at Havas Lynx CX but I haven't always been. I help craft innovative digital solutions with large pharmaceutical companies like Sanofi, GSK, and Merck.
I have been making things for the web for more than 13 years. I am an enthusiastic code janitor and a proud 1x engineer.
I love to build websites that work for everyone; I put a lot of focus on accessibility and performance.

That's a good post.
Was a pleasure to work with, Not sure about his Nic Cage fetish but each to their own.
Really lovely work. Excited to dig into more of your writing.
This is such a cool looking photo!
What a beautiful design, I have been enjoying reading your posts and seeing your photography work!
Couldn’t agree more with your post
Love reading your music posts (and all the others!)
your site reminds me of the way the web used to be.
When I'm not building things for the internet, I take photos of stuff.
Often found wandering, camera in hand, through the Cheshire countryside or local markets and charity shops with my wife, kids, and dog.
I have been known to do a little bit of running. I prefer running on dirt tracks, towpaths, and up and down hills; I believe it may be called Trail Running but there could be some nuance I'm unaware of. I'm not hugely accomplished; never competed and have personal bests of around 6k in 30 minutes.
I have been reading a lot of books about "fantasy" lately. I'm currently reading "Silver on the Tree" by Susan Cooper. There are 333 books on my To Be Read list. I just added "Blood of Dragons (The Rain Wild Chronicles, Book 4)" by Robin Hobb courtesy of Ruben. You can see more of my reading on my dedicated Reading page.
I have also enjoyed reading "Week Notes - Jan 01 to Jan 12 2026" on 📚Noisy Deadlines and "RSS Club #005: Expedition 33" on dbushell.com. There are more on my Postroll.
I listened to Depeche Mode and Lamb this week. I've been slightly obsessed with "Precious" by Depeche Mode.
Recently, I've been watching "Depeche Mode M" (Fernando Frias, 2025) and I'm hoping to start "Alice" (Nick Willing, 2009) soon. I've watched a lot of stuff tagged “animation” and there are 86 things left on my Want To Watch list.
