Salute 2025 – Warsaw Uprising

The Loughton Strike Force did it again and brought my personal favourite wargaming table at Salute. Following last year’s Saigon ’68 board, the topic this time was the Warsaw Uprising during World War 2. The rules system used was ‘O’ Group by Reisswitz Press.

Salute 2024 – Dark Ages to Renaissance

With the next event around the corner, here some more highlights from Salute 2024.

London Wargames Guild launched a Viking raid on London in 1014, with longboats sailing up the Thames.

Masterstroke Games staged skirmishes with their new system Force of Virtue. Live Elizabethan swordplay, with demonstrations and training sessions, and the Siege of Gradara with support from the Italian Municipality of Gradara provided more rich Renaissance flair.

Bronze Bull of Hashut

I’ve always liked the Brass Bull by Reaper Miniatures and eventually bought it a while ago, learning that it was a Bob Olley sculpt.

I soon decided that it would be a great match for my Chaos Dwarfs, and so I painted it to go with their small force, which is still in its basecoated form.

While there are no rules as such for a Bronze Bull of Hashut, I’d probably field it with the profile of a Juggernaut of Khorne.

Salute 2024 – World War 2

Of course World War 2 was a popular topic for gaming tables at Salute 2024, and here are my favourites.

In the Lard Zone, a section of rubble strewn Stalingrad had been recreated for armoured duels using the What a Tanker! rules.
