No Raids, No Mythics, No Problem: Just a Casual Journey Through Azeroth

I find myself as a casual player on WoW. This, coupled with the fact that I don’t really want to learn classes and just absolutely spam so many buttons that I really don’t want to play, I don’t have time for that, but I do have time for is to just play the way I want, and I have been using add-ons to make one-button macros for years under the assumption that it’s allowed in the game, being that one button per physical click on a mouse or keyboard makes it OK.

With that said, I love playing with a one-button macro and I don’t need to be top DPS in raids, mythic, or any other activity within the game. I mostly enjoy just playing alts when I get home from work. I used to play more, but I find that I don’t have time to play all day like I used to back in my high school days. That brings me to the topic of the one-button feature that Blizzard has added within the last patch, which was Patch 11.1.7 in June of 2025.

This week, I spent most of my time using the combat assistant in WoW, and I think it’s awesome. It lets me jump into the game with any of my characters without having to mess with complicated macros or spend hours learning a new class. Instead, I can just enjoy the class story and the fun of the game without worrying about complicated mechanics. It’s great to get right into the game, exploring WoW the way I like, without making it feel like work.

I stopped trying to be the best at raiding and never really cared about tough mythic dungeons. Since I started playing in 2011, I’ve loved being a casual player. WoW has always been a comforting game for me, one I can come back to anytime just to have fun and relax. I’m really glad Blizzard is adding new features for casual players, making the game easier and more fun without needing to spend hours on it. It’s all about having fun, exploring when I want, and enjoying the adventures the game offers.

I appreciate Blizzard’s focus on enhancing the game for casual players, rather than solely targeting the hardcore community with challenging mythic and raid difficulties that I can’t access due to time constraints.

I came across a blog post by Llinwood on warcraftsolo.com, which inspired me to share my experiences as a casual player and the activities I’ve engaged in over the past few years with my chosen play style.

New Characters Page…

Well I think it’s about time I have a page with all my characters that I play in the world of warcraft and I’m just letting you know that it’s live now. You can go find it at the top of the page in the navigation or simply click the button below. Thanks!

Time to play…

So I have been playing some WoW this weekend and I found out with all the time I have when I’m playing, I’m finding that I can only sit down for a couple of dungeons at a time and so I only got my monk to 66. I’m hoping that I can get some time on Monday as the time-walking ends soon. It’s going to be hard for me to level without that. It’s the easiest way to get to 70 without questing. Also finding it hard to get into quests for time-walking like I was getting on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

With what I have been playing, I had a lot of fun with my monk. I was able to get quite a bit of achievements done during this time-walking event as well. This would be the first time this character has seen these dungeons, so that’s why I was getting them.

I have always wanted to know from people that play one character, what it is like to play only one class? Being able to play and max out all reps and do everything pretty much in the game with one character seems interesting. I have always wanted to do that, but my brain wants me to be on many different characters at a time. I think my plan is to just keep all my classes to the max level and progress on one of them, which would be my hunter as he’s my main character.

FOR THE HORDE!

I guess around December I decided to switch from being an alliance player to the horde. I needed something new for a while. There was no guilds that were casual enough for my play style of today. So I will continue to play as a tauren hunter, which is my main character and always will be. I’m happy to add a Tauren Warlock to my list of characters. I have made him this past weekend and I have been having a lot of fun with the warlock class. There are a lot of updates on the warlock class and I haven’t been able to look into them all yet but I hope to get to that soon. I will just have to level him and learn about the new things at the same time.

I’m hoping to like it on the realm “Thrall” I have been playing on “Proudmoore” for a long time. I think it’s been like 7 years, I’m liking the change so far. I hope to make Thrall my new home for a while.

In resent months I have been playing on Thrall and I find I want to go back to Proudmoore because I just transferred over my hunter and so I have to start again with all my other characters. Every time I want to play a class I have to start over, this has lead me to go back to my alliance character instead of working on my horde version.

I think I just need to stick with it. I want to keep going, once I make it so a point where I want to stay I will stay. I think I am rambling so I will leave it at this.

Thanks for reading.

Turning 10 Years Old. Congratz The Creative Craft

As of today, this blog turns 10 years old. I can’t believe I have been writing on and off for the past 10 years. I know that this blog has not been the most up-to-date piece of the internet I have, but I like to call it home for my thoughts about World of Warcraft and any gaming I do in general. I would like to take this time to thank everyone that is still around and reading. I would love to keep this blog going for another 10 years. I just hope that it will be more active than what I have been doing so far. To the next 10 years!

Death Knight…among other topics..

I have been enjoying my death knight, I have been trying out the Blood Spec. I have never used this spec before but right now I am killing mobs pretty quickly with no issues staying alive. This is what I want in a tank class. I find my paladin so slow to take mobs down but I can stay alive forever it seems. I want to make sure I get this class to 60 and get some gear for it. Right now there isn’t much I want to do other then get some Loremaster done as I was talking about in the last post.

This seems to be the best choice to play for right now. I have been looking forward to Blizzard coming out with a new expansion pack, I’ve been wanting to get away from shadowlands. I haven’t been enjoying it like all the other expansion packs. I think it’s because it’s not on Azeroth. I just hope that this new one is going to be set in an area that doesn’t feel like where shadowlands took us.

Anyways I have been enjoying wow at times. It’s a good idea to keep a list of things to get done in the game. That way you don’t have any issues with being bored of the content that you have to wait a long time to get. I think a lot of the reason is because of the pandemic and the fact that Blizzard has gone through some employment changes because of the lawsuits they have had regarding the treatment of employees. I didn’t want to do a post about this so I wanted to say something fast here.

I will keep playing the game until it dies or if there is a huge problem, but I don’t see the game going down anytime soon. Specially after the price Microsoft is paying for Activision-Blizzard-King.

Are Blogs still a thing?

For a while I have been away from this blog but I have been finding myself coming back to it form time to time. I want to keep using it but I don’t know what to use it for. I still play wow but I find I don’t have the amount of time to blog about it anymore.

There is a part of me that still wants this part of the internet as my home. Somewhere to write without having to worry about any social media. It has been online since 2013. That is a long time as it’s 2022 now. I do like the fact I have a blog from that long ago. I doubt many people still read here for the time being. It’s been pretty dead for a long time, I can see if there’s no one that will want to be here but I would like to change that as some point. Since going to college and working after I finished school, I haven’t had the time to do anything like this again. I keep saying that I will do something with this blog but it always fall short of doing anything. I’m sorry for that.

Anyways I will look into what I want to do. I may have some time that I will spend on this site. It will need some good amount of work to get it up and running. When I find the things I want to write about. Thanks for the people that come back and read this. I hope everyone is doing well.

A Change to the blog

I haven’t been on this blog for a while. The reason I don’t is because I don’t play world of warcraft like I used to. I have started crocheting. It has been fun for me to try something new. Something that I can make. Playing video games kinda changed for me over this COVID-19 pandemic Just playing it all the time and getting burnt out, among other things like the fact that much of the world stopped for a while. Now everything that halted in production is now delayed. I’m hoping that it will pick up soon.

So I have decided to change the way I have been living with video games in general. Not playing wow is different. I don’t know if it’s an addiction or something else. But I feel like I need to focus on some other things for right now.

So as I change as a person. This blog will change with me.

Update on Hunter (Level 50-58)

WoWScrnShot_082613_105130Right now I’m going into The Outlands. I don’t really like leveling there but it means that I’m not that far from my favorite area. Mount Hyjal. I level in that area until I finish all the quests.

When I’m in The Outlands I level faster then any other place. Why? Well Its because I hate the place and I would rather level and enjoy Northrend then The Outlands. Some people love the area and there are others like me and can’t stand being in The Oulands.

Well I’m happy that I’m in The Outlands. I just wanted to keep you guys/gals updated on how my hunter is and what level he is. Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a great time on the blog.

What is happening to the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game?

Games come and go. I liked the TCG but I never knew anyone who played the World of Warcraft TCG and for that I never got into it. Hearthstone is something that I can get into because I can just sit down and play a match with someone.

I think that Hearthstone is a great game just to play when you get board of World of Warcraft or other Blizzard game or even a game that is not made by Blizzard so you can play something different for a bit.

The way the Blizzard is advertising this is that anyone can pick up a deck and play. As I played though the introduction to the game in the Closed beta I can tell that anyone can pick up this game and play like they have been playing blizzard games for years.

I love the Warcraft series and I will continue to support it. I think that when they were thinking about the TCG. They were thinking about all the fun that many people were not having because it is hard to find people to play the TCG with and they wanted to get more people into the game.

Some of the comments on the post what Blizzard made were pretty bad in my opinion, a lot of people hated the idea that Blizzard is no longer making TCG card packs and they are blaming Hearthstone for this. What do you think?
