No Raids, No Mythics, No Problem: Just a Casual Journey Through Azeroth

I find myself as a casual player on WoW. This, coupled with the fact that I don’t really want to learn classes and just absolutely spam so many buttons that I really don’t want to play, I don’t have time for that, but I do have time for is to just play the way I want, and I have been using add-ons to make one-button macros for years under the assumption that it’s allowed in the game, being that one button per physical click on a mouse or keyboard makes it OK.

With that said, I love playing with a one-button macro and I don’t need to be top DPS in raids, mythic, or any other activity within the game. I mostly enjoy just playing alts when I get home from work. I used to play more, but I find that I don’t have time to play all day like I used to back in my high school days. That brings me to the topic of the one-button feature that Blizzard has added within the last patch, which was Patch 11.1.7 in June of 2025.

This week, I spent most of my time using the combat assistant in WoW, and I think it’s awesome. It lets me jump into the game with any of my characters without having to mess with complicated macros or spend hours learning a new class. Instead, I can just enjoy the class story and the fun of the game without worrying about complicated mechanics. It’s great to get right into the game, exploring WoW the way I like, without making it feel like work.

I stopped trying to be the best at raiding and never really cared about tough mythic dungeons. Since I started playing in 2011, I’ve loved being a casual player. WoW has always been a comforting game for me, one I can come back to anytime just to have fun and relax. I’m really glad Blizzard is adding new features for casual players, making the game easier and more fun without needing to spend hours on it. It’s all about having fun, exploring when I want, and enjoying the adventures the game offers.

I appreciate Blizzard’s focus on enhancing the game for casual players, rather than solely targeting the hardcore community with challenging mythic and raid difficulties that I can’t access due to time constraints.

I came across a blog post by Llinwood on warcraftsolo.com, which inspired me to share my experiences as a casual player and the activities I’ve engaged in over the past few years with my chosen play style.

Death Knight…among other topics..

I have been enjoying my death knight, I have been trying out the Blood Spec. I have never used this spec before but right now I am killing mobs pretty quickly with no issues staying alive. This is what I want in a tank class. I find my paladin so slow to take mobs down but I can stay alive forever it seems. I want to make sure I get this class to 60 and get some gear for it. Right now there isn’t much I want to do other then get some Loremaster done as I was talking about in the last post.

This seems to be the best choice to play for right now. I have been looking forward to Blizzard coming out with a new expansion pack, I’ve been wanting to get away from shadowlands. I haven’t been enjoying it like all the other expansion packs. I think it’s because it’s not on Azeroth. I just hope that this new one is going to be set in an area that doesn’t feel like where shadowlands took us.

Anyways I have been enjoying wow at times. It’s a good idea to keep a list of things to get done in the game. That way you don’t have any issues with being bored of the content that you have to wait a long time to get. I think a lot of the reason is because of the pandemic and the fact that Blizzard has gone through some employment changes because of the lawsuits they have had regarding the treatment of employees. I didn’t want to do a post about this so I wanted to say something fast here.

I will keep playing the game until it dies or if there is a huge problem, but I don’t see the game going down anytime soon. Specially after the price Microsoft is paying for Activision-Blizzard-King.

Update on WoW Characters

Right now I will list off all the Characters and classes I have on WoW as of March 9, 2022

  • Hunter – 60
  • Paladin – 60
  • Monk – 55
  • Warlock – 53
  • Death Knight – 51
  • Shaman – 51
  • Demon Hunter – 51
  • Druid – 50
  • Mage – 50
  • Warrior – 50
  • Rogue – 50
  • Priest – 33

I seem to have every class in the game on my list within the alliance. I love that I have all the classes as I want to start working on getting the Transmog sets for all my characters. There is one thing that keeps me playing even if the game gets to a boring with no new content place. I always have transmogs and Loremaster to get done. I have quite a bit to go for that as well. My Progress is below.

As you can see I have been working on it for years whenever there is some down time in content, but I still have a long way to go. I really want to get this achievement. This achievement has been one of my goals since the beginning. I want to walk around WoW with that Title and Tabard. It would be something that I can be proud of from the game. I will be working more of it as this patch that has come out. Shadowlands: Eternity’s End doesn’t seem to be doing it anymore for me, but that will be explained in another post.

What is happening to the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game?

Games come and go. I liked the TCG but I never knew anyone who played the World of Warcraft TCG and for that I never got into it. Hearthstone is something that I can get into because I can just sit down and play a match with someone.

I think that Hearthstone is a great game just to play when you get board of World of Warcraft or other Blizzard game or even a game that is not made by Blizzard so you can play something different for a bit.

The way the Blizzard is advertising this is that anyone can pick up a deck and play. As I played though the introduction to the game in the Closed beta I can tell that anyone can pick up this game and play like they have been playing blizzard games for years.

I love the Warcraft series and I will continue to support it. I think that when they were thinking about the TCG. They were thinking about all the fun that many people were not having because it is hard to find people to play the TCG with and they wanted to get more people into the game.

Some of the comments on the post what Blizzard made were pretty bad in my opinion, a lot of people hated the idea that Blizzard is no longer making TCG card packs and they are blaming Hearthstone for this. What do you think?

Hearthstone: Closed Beta Invites

Hello, This is history in the making for me personally. I have never been invited to a closed beta in any game before. So today I would like say that I really appreciate it Blizzard for sending a Beta Key this way. One of the ideas that I was thinking of was to play the game and then make some blog posts about my experience within the game.

I have been waiting for this game to come out into beta for quite some time. Well since they released that they were making the game. Right now I have downloaded the game and played through the tutorial. I find the game really fun to play not just as a casual game but you can play this, I guess you can say hardcore? As some people would say.

As for me I will be playing this game a lot for me to understand most of the cards in the game. What I like about the game is the it is different for any other blizzard game on the market today. Some of the features are still being worked on. As you would expect for being in beta.

As for the game going live for PC and Mac. They are still sending beta keys out. If you didn’t already know. Blizzard sends beta keys out in waves, this is to make sure their servers are not overloaded at one time. Even though people have to wait, this is nice once you get on the servers. You wouldn’t want to get a beta key and then have to wait to get on the servers because there are way to many people on that the servers can’t handle the load.

Well I have rambled enough for this post. I will be posting more this weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying the beta launch and best of luck for those who are still waiting.

Realm Transferring

Well this topic is because of the sale that has been on for about a week. I like the idea that you can transfer your character to a new realm. Sometimes that is a great thing. Not saying that the price is really nice but just the idea for people to be able to transfer their character over to a new realm. Some people never do this and some people do this all the time. I find my self wanting to do this a lot but the price is the issue. Today I got to transfer my Paladin over to the realm Hyjal. I have been wanting to transfer my character out of the realm Dentarg for a really long time. The reason, people. What I mean by that is the people on the realm are really rude, so rude that I don’t want to play the game because of them. I don’t pay to have rude people around me. I wish that the transfer service was free or a low cost and payable with a prepaid game card. Well I just wanted to post this quick post for you guys. Thanks for reading and see you next post. I hope to post more over the summer.
