ISIS Are Orks!!!

by SandWyrm

If you want some Orky inspiration, you need look no further than some of the crazy vehicles that ISIS has thrown together to conquer the Arab world with. Really? We can't stop these guys?

Tyranid spore pod model

By TheGraveMind
So people at the Indy Open asked me where I got my pod from for my tyranids. I got them (ya I have more than one) from Mr. Dandy/Wargamma. He makes tons of nice little resin things. I've gotten a few of my terrain/display board bits from him as well. I think the Indy Open even gave away some of his stuff as prizes.

Product Review: Chapterhouse Turrets

By TheGraveMind

I had purchased 3 sets of the turrets from chapterhouse to use on my razorbacks for the Indy GT. I decided to buy the Storm Raven turret set because it had the weapon options I needed, but was a few bucks cheaper.

Conversion: PzIII-G to PzIII-L

by SandWyrm

My Panzer III tanks from the Plastic Soldier Company have been getting some disapproving looks lately from the regulars at G2D4 because they don't really look like the "L" versions that I'm using on the field. So I decided to go ahead and convert them properly.

Tyranid second wave finally?

By TheGravemind

So the supposed rumor is that there will be a second wave release of models in the next month or so. Now I normally don't care/follow the rumors that much, but this time in involves tyranids, and it seems to have a little evidence behind it.

It is that time of year.

By TheGraveMind

That time of the year has begun. Where, in Indiana; the weather changes every day, the gloom of winter hangs overhead, and the relatives start asking what you want for the holidays.

The 'Leegranticus' Tank Destroyer

by SandWyrm

It's pretty interesting what you can find at model railroad shows.

Forge World Vets With Shotguns

by SandWyrm

I thought that I'd do a quick post to show you how my latest 40K project is coming along. I've now got 2 assembled squads of IG Vets with Shotguns using 4 Forge World Hardened Veteran upgrade packs that I bought at this year's Adepticon. Along with some Space Marine bits.

Liquid Green Stuff Review

by SandWyrm

I'm currently working on putting together 2 squads of IG Veterans with shotguns using the Forge World upgrade kits that I bought way back at Adepticon. Anyone who's worked with FW resin kits knows how difficult it can be to fit them together properly. So hey! Why not give Citadel's new 'Liquid Green Stuff' a try?

There's No Crack Like ForgeWorld Crack

by SandWyrm

I was going to call it quits on the Imperial Guard for a while post-Adepticon and concentrate on other things (cough... Emo Wing... cough...). But just when you think you're free, they pull you back in!

The Perfect Grey Knight Proxy Army?

by SandWyrm

As I've been thinking about what it would take to do an Adeptus Mechanicus proxy for the new Grey Knight codex, I've been a bit daunted by the potential work involved. That plus the meh-ness of the Codex itself (saw it tonight and I'm still worried) has had me stumped. I only like the book well enough to do a henchmen-centric force using my existing Tallarns. But I really want some Admech Elements too. But an Admech-Tallarn mix would be... a bit strange.

It was while I was browsing Forge World for AdMech insignias that I stumbled across the answer.

The Greydeptus Mechknighticus Is Here

by SandWyrm

Tell me this thing wouldn't be a sweet basis for an AdMech Knight Titan conversion.

Pimp My Ride - Raider Edition

By Anonymous Foodie

I've been working for a while on converting my Raiders into something a little more... well... cool looking.  At least, I like to think so...

New Orks And Goblins, Blah, Blah... HEY!

by SandWyrm

Who wants to bet that GW will sell more of these to Tyranid players than they will to Ork and Goblin players? I see a nice Tervigon or Tyrannofex being made out of this baby. :)

A Fine Looking Battle

by SandWyrm

It's been some 12 years since I first started my Tallarn Guard army in the Spring of 1998. But I can now say proudly that my 2K Mech Guard list is finally completely painted. Whew! Those last few Stormtrooper models were a real pain.

To celebrate, I took them down to the North Store hoping to finally get a game in with JB from Kokomo, who has the best looking Ork army I've ever seen. I lucked out, as he was there and anxious to play me. We set up the best looking table we could with the store's terrain and went at it. Fortunately I brought the good camera to take pics with.

Converting Set-Back Chimeras - Part III

by SandWyrm

Wow! Has it really been a month since I last wrote a major post? Sheesh! You can blame (over)work for the hiatus. For a good month I didn't have time to play 40K or paint, much less blog about it.

Now that the project I was working on is over, and I'm relatively well rested, I've once again dived into finishing the models I need for 'Ard Boyz on the 15th.  Which means finishing the new set-back chimeras that I'll need for my Stormtroopers.

Converting Set-Back Chimeras - Part II

by SandWyrm

In part one of this series, I showed you how to cut up the old standard Chimera kit, sand it, and assemble the roof pieces for the set-back look. Now we're going to clean up the seams so you don't even know that they're there.
