Dr. A. Girdhar Babu was born in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1979. He obtained his B.Sc (Botany, Zoology and Chemistry) degree in 2000 and received his Ph.D. degree on in Department of Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. M. Sudhakra Reddy from the Thapar University, India. In 2011, he joined as Assistant Research Professor in the Biotechnology Department, Chonbuk National University, Korea. His research interests focused on bio/chemical remediation of (in)organics pollutant contaminated soils, including emerging contaminants. Special attention is also given to microbe assisted phytoremediation of contaminated sites for the production of biomass for biodiesel. In 2013, he was offered a senior researcher at the Division of Bioresource Sciences, Kangwon National University, Chuncheon. There, he continued his research on remediation of (in)organic polluted agriculture soils using plant growth promoting fungi and their extracellular enzymes. Currently, Dr. A. Girdhar Babu is a Senior Researcher at National Center for Applied Microfluidic Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Pohang, South Korea. His research mainly focused on microfluidic platforms for environmental organismal studies (Soil-microbe-plant-on-a-Chip). He is an author or co-author of several international peer-reviewed journals, book chapter and refereed conference papers. He has participated in several national and international research and monitoring initiatives, and served as a reviewer for several international Journals.
