  How it all began for the ladies of SG1...written for the WOTG January Challenge. -- > These are wonderful character snippets. I love how clearly I can recognize each character. I love seeing where they came from.

  It is Charity's first Christmas Dinner as a young Professor with her colleagues and to her surprise her expertise is sought after. -- > This is such a charming look at a character we know so very little about in canon. I love how the parallels between the magical and muggle world a drawn.

  Elizabeth’s reality is far different from her sisters’. -- > Great crossover. I love the characters here, especially Elizabeth. This is so true to her.

• HP: If I Knew You Were Coming, I'd've Baked a Cake, by Pitry.
  It was funny to call it normal, but life can be funny sometimes: that was what Lavender had said, and Dudley, who knew he wasn’t very clever, was bound to agree with her. --> I really love all the characters here, but Dudley especially was great. He's still the boy we met, but he grew up. Not all bullies stay bullies, and I love him realizing that, that he can change. The characters interactions were wonderful too, all those little moments of friendship. How the war left scars, some more visible than others, and yet life can go on.

• DS: TV Cops, by Teaphile.
  A babble of questions boiled up out of the class, then, like all thirty-two of them were talking at once, even though Ray could see that at least one kid was asleep, head slumped against the window. -- > This is a wonderful look at Ray and the way he sees being a cop. This story balances the whimsy of due South with gritty realism.

• Iron Man-Movies: Chloe Liked Olivia, By Marinarusalka.
  One is the personal assistant to a billionaire-playboy-turned-superhero. The other is an ambitious journalist with a political conscience. Together, they fight crime! -- > This was such a great idea to let the characters meet again like they did here. Love how Pepper and Christine become friends, and how they bond over something other than men or their jobs.

• HP: Love's Appalling Adverbs, by Amanuensis
  Hermione learns two things: a secret about Snape, and that she's a terrible writer. -- > One of those stories I re-read and re-read is Love's Appalling Adverbs. It takes a very humerous take on romance novels and first time writers without being mean. Even after reading it so many times I still can laugh about it.

• CA (Movies): and we are finally home, by springsoldier.
  The Winter Soldier shows up in Sam's kitchen, one morning. He deals with it. (Natasha helps. Steve would, if they let him.) -- > Great Sam pov. I love all the friendships and the relationships and the slow healing. The characers really come to live in this story.
