[Oh God, there's a whole story about this one. I posted a pic of one of our rookies (Andrew Susac our back up catcher) on tumblr a while back and said something about Spring Training. \"[personal<\/a>helens78<\/b><\/a><\/span> said something about how she'd like some training fic about him, \"if you know what I mean.\" So I wrote something and then I wasn't really sure if it was what she had in mind and also it was in a series she hadn't read and so on, so I never posted it. Three weeks later I discovered that Susac's teen-aged sister is active on tumblr and that she checks Andrew's tag. The idea that this guy's little sister could have read Chiaroscuro verse fic about her brother a) being an asshole and b) getting the crap beat out of him by Buster Posey...well, I'm damn glad I never posted the fic.]

This year I decided to try reaching the NaNo word count goal, but not work on a specific, new, story. Mostly I've been working on the Est fic, but I wrote a quick thing set in the Blood Histories series and I'm also working on a fic with Nancy.

As of yesterday (last night\/early this morning) I'm at 6024 words, which is about 800 less than I should be at. Overall, though, I'm pretty pleased with my progress.

Because I'm writing, I'm not reading as much, so doing a regular Wednesday reading thing is probably out for a while. I kind of got hung up on the English Civil War for a little while, so I just finished \"Cromwell to Cromwell: Reformation to Civil War\" by John Schofield. It was pretty interesting; he looked at how history went from Thomas Cromwell who would probably never had dreamed of rising against Henry VIII to Oliver, who helped depose and execute his king. It was kinda dry but also interesting.

I don't have anything queued up to read right now.

I haven't done much cooking lately either; my anxiety keeps telling me I'll ruin dinner, which...so what? I mean I probably won't and if I do, it's not the fucking end of the world. But...try arguing with anxiety.

\"And very respectfully, Sir.\"

He's not here to be funny but it's still nice to be able to joke and have them laugh. \"Why don't you get your respectful ass over here,\" Lincecum says.

\"What the fuck? You asshole, I'm ahead by four runs, so, what, all of a sudden you've got the urge to play with him?\"

\"Dude,\" Lincecum says as Buster kneels in front of him. \"It's not fucking real time. The game's not going anywhere.\"

\"Yeah, well, neither is Buster.\"

He tips his head back and looks at Buster for a long moment before reaching around to rest his hands on Buster's ass. As Lincecum's fingers move over the welts, Buster catches his breath. Between Lincecum's proximity and the feel of his hands on Buster's sore skin, Buster's fully hard in no time.

\"When was the last time you came?\"

\"Four days ago, Master.\"

Buster blinks in surprise, because really? He remembers how he felt, hurting and just on the verge of coming. How he wanted to make Mistress Allyson proud and how he offered himself up to the audience\u2014if you buy me, you can have this; I can be this for you.

Now he knows that it worked. And, more importantly, that the sight of him, in pain and desperate, convinced Hunter to buy him for Lincecum. It seems that, after four years in the system, Buster\u2019s finally owned by a sadist.

I\u2019ve always wondered just how someone can write 50,000 words in a month. I mean, 1667 or so words a day doesn\u2019t sound like much until you\u2019ve missed a few days and start stressing about it, like I ALWAYS do. And maybe that would happen if I\u2019d waited until November and did the whole NaNo thing with this fic. But I didn\u2019t and in the last nine days, I\u2019ve written roughly 20,400 words.

And it\u2019s not like I haven\u2019t gone on writing tears before, but this feels different. For one thing, those tears are usually much shorter stories I bang out in a day or two. This is a much more sustained burst of writing energy. I told sophiahelix that it was coming along faster than the vampire fic did and boy howdy, is it ever. I have no idea how long it\u2019s going to be and, unlike the vampire fic, which essentially had an outline because I followed the 2010 season so closely, I\u2019m writing this without one. I know the destination and some knowledge of the stops on the way, but the actual route? The number of words it takes to get there? I have no idea.

tl;dr I\u2019m writing this thing really fast and that\u2019s kind of blowing my mind.

Huh, I need a subbier icon of Buster here on DW. I'll get on that....

Also, I know this is all I post about, but it's all I'm doing. I take a little time off for The Sims 2 every once in a while but mostly, I'm writing or thinking about writing.

I was having an \"I want to read good m\/m slavefic\" moment and I got to thinking about how so much slavefic is about the slave going through training and then dealing with (and usually falling for) their first master. And don't get me wrong, I fucking love that trope. But then I had the idea for a fic set in the Establishment AU where the slave has been in the system for a while and thinks he's got it down, that he's a really good slave. And he is, but he's never had a master who really got in his head and made him feel it on a deep, real, emotional level.

So, yeah. 11,000 words in four days. It's Baseball RPF* but since only one of the guys is a ball player and he's not a main character, it's pretty much original fic. So cross your fingers, because if I can get this done, it might be something I can file the numbers off and sell.

* Buster's the slave, Tim's his tech billionaire owner and Hunter is Tim's BFF\/right hand man. Bumgarner is still a pitcher and Belt is his slave. Tim's into sharing, so it's kind of everyone\/everyone.

Nancy's godmother passed away and so we're going back for her memorial service. Nancy's doing okay, but, of course, it's not the best reason to take a trip. She took enough time off to have several days to decompress after the trip, which should help a little.

We are planning to do a few touristy things, though. We're staying right downtown so we're close to a lot of things, and also, the Giants are playing the Cubs right now, so, just like we did in 2010 when her mom died, we're going to a ballgame.

Stuff has happened, some of it good, some of it not so good. Nothing awful, or anything. I'll try to make a more detailed post at some point, but basically we went to a ballgame on Tuesday; the Giants lost in extra innings; we were on the tv broadcast during the 10th inning and wow, I wish I could somehow make a gif because it's us in a nutshell. There was lost wallet drama when we got to the park, but it was sorted out, and since then, Nancy's had a migraine. She finally got fed up with it this morning so we went to Kaiser so she could get a shot and she feels a lot better.

That's the short version. Also we went to a new and awesome restaurant here in town and I've been playing the Sims again. Good times.

The Melting Pot -- Cheese fondue and then hot broth to cook all kinds of yummy meat in and then...oh God, they have a new chocolate fondue called Dark and Dulce. It's dark chocolate and a big spoonful of dulce de leche with a little big of coarse sea salt. It was fucking fabulous and so rich. Yum yum yum.

2. On our way over there we were stopped at a stop sign and this street person crossed in front of us and yelled \"Ladies, you look so gangsta tonight,\" or words to that effect. Which...oh God no. For one thing, can you even be gangsta while driving a Jetta? Also, although the guy couldn't see our feet, we both think that wearing Birkenstocks pretty much means that you are so not gangsta. We never could figure out what he meant. I mean, dude was clearly crazy, but still, we're a pair of middle aged women in a mom car. We laughed about it all through dinner.

3. I'm actually running out of good things to say about the Giants when they lose. Um...our pitcher pitched really well? Um, the defense didn't screw anything up this time? Um...Buster Posey has a nice ass? Seriously, this team....
