However, uncertainty of United Kingdom policy jointly with the ever increasing demands from ecological directives issued by supra-national organisations, such as the European Union and International protocols. This has led to inconsistency within the United Kingdom electricity market; with power generators seeking stable investment. Regulators on the other hand are searching for compliance and the government is pursuing the green ideologies. Whilst this inconsistency continues, consumers are increasingly probing price increases while the energy sector is experiencing a potential decrease in competition.
