Guest Speaker

Field Trip Host
Location: Your Site in King County or Pierce County

Provide a fun and insightful field trip for our students by hosting a tour of your corporate headquarters or worksite! One way we inspire our students and connect their learning to the real world is by introducing them to new environments, immersing them in the realities of corporate and professional culture. With this type of exposure, students start to understand the variety of opportunities available to them and see how their learning applies to achieving their dreams.
College Tour Connections

One of the most effective ways for students to envision themselves earning a college degree is by visiting a college campus! It allows them to picture themselves as part of the student community and see it as a real possibility and a goal to strive for. Technician Support

Provide PC support with troubleshooting and programming at our office in the White Center neighborhood.
Administrative/Mail Support

Provide administrative support to TAF with general office management, clerical work, filing, mailing, and more.
Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, registration, or clean-up. Volunteers may also choose to be involved in event planning.

One Seattle Day of Service
Location: TAF BCLS – Seattle, WA

This opportunity is excellent for organizations! Participate in this citywide day of volunteerism to give back and take action to improve the city we love. Usually held in July, check for the official dateon their website.
During the school year, volunteers mentor students through college and career decisions and projects, including the annual STEM Expo and quarterly exhibitions. At the elementary level, students benefit from volunteers who provide project direction and support during quarterly exhibitions.
TAF programming incorporates workshops, delivered by community partners and volunteers, in financial literacy, resume building, interviewing, and web development to prepare students for the future. Additionally, we partner with companies to provide hackathons and other exciting program opportunities to extend student learning beyond the classroom. Volunteers have a chance to support students as they explore these areas of interest and practical skill building!

This upcoming MLK holiday and Day of Service, help us sort out donations! Snacks and refreshments will be provided for volunteers!
We are also gathering donations for coats and winter clothing to ensure that all our students stay warm this season. Do you have lightly used winter clothing you’d like to donate? Bring them with you or drop it off on Mondays and Wednesdays at Bethaday Community Learning Space.

Volunteer Fair February 12th

Are you a new TAF volunteer wanting to get more involved on our community? This event is for you! Come meet the staff and learn about our programs. Snacks and refreshment will be provided. Seattle Aquarium tickets will also be given to attendees as a token of appreciation.
STEM Expo March 4th
Location: TAF@Saghalie
Time: 8am to 12pm
It’s that time of the year! Our middle schoolers are presenting their STEM projects and are looking for volunteers to observe, judge, and craft. Come to our school to learn from our students and celebrate the hard work they’ve done throughout the school year. This event may be broken into shifts depending on your schedule. Lunch is provided for volunteers and a small token for your time!
The Convening March 20th-21st

The Network for EdWork’s Convening is a BIPOC centered space, which aims to support BIPOC educators and all education leaders in imagining, healing, and building for liberation. This one-day gathering is dedicated to providing the tools and community to thrive, connect, develop partnerships, and advocate for change. We need volunteers to support with the logistics of the event (check-in, set-up, etc.)
Varsity Luncheon March 24th
Location: Amazon Meeting Center

Join us for our biggest event of the year and experience the TAF magic up close and personal. This celebration recognizes the impact we collectively make for kids, educators, and the community. Social Media Lead for BCLS

Bethaday Community Learning Space (BCLS) is not only our office, but also a
versatile, affordable, and eco-friendly nonprofit event venue nestled in a park
in Seattle. We need a volunteer with prior experience managing social media
for a venue or organization. This person would handle our regular online
content and engagement for the BCLS. They should be comfortable creating
basic visuals, understanding different platforms (like Instagram, Facebook,
etc.), and maintaining a consistent posting calendar without extensive daily
supervision.
Storage Room and Classroom Cleanliness Assitant
Location: BCLS, White Center

A dedicated volunteer to clean the furniture in the storage room and main classroom areas on a monthly or semimonthly basis.
