Back in Southampton after the Reading Festival. I definitely plan to make a proper post about it, but I thought I'd say hi, I survived my first festival! With, it has to be said, lots of help. More than I would have liked, lol, which is mildly embarrassing and annoying but ultimately all right, because, a) I *did* make it through, albeit with the backs of both heels blistered to fuck and a pulled muscle in my right calf (ow stairs ow), and b) I learnt that I have improved dramatically in allowing people to take care of me - gratitude and much love to looking_spiffy, beelzezuk, nene, and nightsofcydonia (so good to finally meet you!). I suppose it boils down to me having been a newbie, and it showing. Eh, can't win 'em all or be brilliant at everything, and despite the aches, pains, fatigue, dirt, allergies, and people-claustrophobia, I had a good time. And willingly self-mind-wiped a good deal of that on account of how fucking amazing Metallica were last night. :D setlistCollapse )

Also, woo on Massa winning the European GP yesterday! Only six points behind Hamilton now. This makes me happeh.

Wee post to wave farewell for the weekend, as we're off to Reading in the morning. Today has been endless for various reasons. An example: there was an accident on the bridge so the bus went the long way round, which I've never gone and didn't recognise anything, and thus ended up taking the entire route until it came *back* to that spot, because it was the driver's first day back after a two week holiday and he didn't actually say when we stopped at the impromptu substitute bus stop the first time. Aie.

Uh... 'conjugate sex-wise.' I quite like that phrase that Russell Blands (sp? the guy with the backcombing accident on the back of his head) just coined on Leno to describe Morissey having potential intimate relations with a feline creature. Heeeeeeee.

Also, I did post the Rob/Mark log written with oh_johnny_, so if you're interested, it's here.

Lastly, while I will have my mobile with me, it doesn't hold a charge that great so I'll have it turned off most of the time. Ergo, don't expect any instant replies to texts, though I'll definitely turn it on at least once a day to check for messages.

I'm having 'em. There are a few things I was going to post on tonight, but I've been distracted by finishing up a log with oh_johnny_ (that will be posted tomorrow), posting another one written with asknosecrets (that turned out to be absolutely gorgeous, thank you again, Jack), and gathering stuff for the Reading festival, because we leave Thursday morning. And my ticket arrived today, holy fucking shit last-minuteness people! The whole ticketing thing with this festival is bloody nerve-wracking, with the "okay, tens of thousands of you click at once to buy tickets" way back in fucking MARCH and then not even sending them until the week of?! Aie. I may choose the HMV route next year, assuming of course anyone I wanna see plays next year, lol.

Hey, nightsofcydonia! You've got two more days, girl. You grown that penis yet? ;D

Oh, yes, and shirtless boys. It was raining on the way home tonight so of course my glasses were all rain-blurred and I was squinting at the guy stretching in front of the house preparatory to going for a run and it took me a moment to recognise him as Boy1, mainly because I think it's the second time I've ever seen him *with* a shirt on. He lives in a pair of shorts, lol. cookie2697 can confirm this. :D And then the pretty blonde boy from upstairs (looking_spiffy, the one who wanted me to call the landlord when the fire alarm went off b/c he'd run out of credit) came into our kitchen while I was doing the dinner thing and asked if I had a can opener he could borrow. Which I do, actually, lol, and he even washed it before returning it, bless. But he wasn't wearing a shirt either and I was standing there thinking, when did I turn into the house mommy and does it have any perks besides making me feel really fucking old? Because, damn, he handed it back and said, "Cheers. Pleasure," and went back upstairs, and I'm like, oh you had better be over twenty for what that one innocent word is making me think, boy.

I am getting my laptop back tomorrow morning, woo! I spoke with the driver directly today, who still has it, and who left a freaking return phone number this time. Since I have tomorrow off and my original plans have fallen through for various reasons, I can be at home, the slated delivery address in the first place, so that we don't have to go through any other channels to get this done (like the redelivery idiots who never even responded to my enquiry and put gobbledygook on his manifest slip). I cannot WAIT. That news, and being caught out in a little gale-y rainstorm at lunch have improved my day.

Reading is in a week and two days. *freaks the fuck out*

I can't quite remember what I wanted to post about. Aside from a bit of squee that Felipe Massa won the French Grand Prix today, anyway. :D But beyond that, I'm just headachey and feel drained. Of all the stupid things to have an unexpected, bad allergic reaction to. Pizza. *eyeroll* I suppose it's a kick in the butt to start being more careful about what I eat again. Not that I haven't been - or would have expected THAT reaction in the first place - but I could do a lot better. Actually, I could do better about food in general. I always have sucked at taking proper care of myself that way. Also, I babble about weird shit when I'm drunk, wow. One of the few times when I show motormouth potential.

Lots of stuff I need to do but I did not have the brainpower or energy today for much so I'll get an early start tomorrow. Right now I kind of feel like reading, except the things I most want to read are online, and that gets physically awkward after a while, what with my usual computer configuration now being me lying in bed with WS propped between my stomach and my bent knees. Gets hard on the neck after a while. Maybe I'll chance it anyway; I'm tired but not quite ready to sleep yet.

The Reading festival is two months from today. Holy shit. That's so unreal. I still need to get a sleeping bag. LOL, that sentence isn't any more real. The last sleeping bag I owned was a gift from my godfather and I don't even remember how old it was when it got wrecked, and *that* happened when I was still married, so it was a long damn time ago.

Oh, and I'm being educated in Simon Pegg-ness. Which is tremendous fun, actually. I like muchly. And I think everybody needs an Ed. *firm nod*

Can't quite wake up today. I passed out on the couch after a late dinner last night and then just stumbled off to bed when I semi-awoke, figuring that I'd end up getting up at the crack of dawn after all that and I could just get to work then. Except I actually slept in, and I could happily go for a nap now. Oy. This cough is kicking my ass and the thing of it is, now that it's settled in, it's gonna be around a while. There's no point in going to the doctor because it's just what my body does on the few occasions that a cough really takes hold. It takes *forever* to get rid of it. I apologize in advance to anyone who's gonna be sleeping near me in the near future. :-/

This might all be moot anyway. Trying to get a ticket for the Reading Festival is gonna kill me!

ETA: Done. That only took an hour and a half of repeated clicking. Yeesh. I'm not built for that sort of 'excitement'! :P Iffen anyone is interested in the line-up, you can see it here. No Green Day, not surprisingly by this time, but the headliners are Rage Against the Machine, The Killers, and Metallica. Yay! Also yay are the Fratellis, Dropkick Murphys, QotSA, the Raconteurs, and I forget who else. Cuz there's that many. Whee!
