When you co-write with someone fairly intensively for a while, you get a good sense of each other's "writer's brain" and develop a feel for what kind of bones you can throw that their muse might be interested in catching. That's actually one of the coolest things about it to me.

Sometimes, that has some unexpected side effects. Like having your writer's brain - used to running with your partner's prompts - suddenly decide that a relatively random writing-related comment must have been a prompt. *giggles* It's the only logical explanation I can come up with for why, when talking about fiction possibilities for Christmas, looking_spiffy posted this: "Youse all know my current fandoms – Green Day, Metallica, MCR, the Network and crossovers therein (the crackier the better, I say)"; my brain went, 'Ooooo *squishes them all together in crack!pr0n*'; and not half an hour later I had a full-grown bunny and an opening paragraph. *dies*

So, my dear partner, as it's now gone midnight in the UK, I'm unwrapping Chain of Command on your behalf, and I really hope you enjoy your Fink!Billie/Gerard/Lars smutty crossover. :D (I should smack you for shoving me into Gerard's POV you evil inspiration omfg but instead I'll wish you Happy Christmas! :P *loves*)

Note for t'other GD-ers: I plan to have a little OT3 smut fluff up before NYE so if crossovers ain't your thang, keep your pants on! Or not; your choice, of course. *naughty grin*

Still mildly embarrassed and very amused at my Foo lyric mixup yesterday - and for those interested, yes, feels_like_fire did yell at me for that, lol. At least I did remember that it was played in Roswell accurately!

Punk/emo anthology at Rockfic Press
The call for submissions is here, and stories about any band that has the word "punk" included in their style description on allmusic.com are eligible. Guess whose listing includes "punk"? ;-) Deadline is September 30th so get yer asses in gear. (Stories that have been previously posted online are eligible, too.) :-)

I don't watch Supernatural, although this comment from femmenerd got saved for the precise reason that it intrigued me and really, considering all the involved elements, I *should* love this show:
I have more thoughts about how a show that's dripping with masculinity, and is admittedly filled with cheesiness and melodrama and shiny, glossy pretty and cars and cock rock has swallowed millions of fangirls whole.

DVDs are out in September and I have a list of eps on youtube (*waves* at tall_tree) so I guess I'll see, literally! In the meantime, I have discovered an interest via the same wicked minx in Faith/Dean crossover fic. Yeah, I know. As much as I loved BtVS I never got into the fandom, and I've written a grand total of one drabble in it (for femmenerd no less!), but DAMN. For some reason, that pairing just totally does it for me. Even though I have very little idea of who Dean is beyond the pretty - strippedpink's LJ has educated me quite well in that respect. *giggles* Anyway, this is a very longwinded introduction to a community pimp: faith_dean. Go, read some good stuff in a so-weird-it-works crossover 'verse! You know you wanna. :D

In possibly related news, I'm on a kick of music by women who are occasionally a little shrieky, i.e., Garbage, The Distillers, etc.. I say possibly related b/c Brody Dalle does kinda remind me of Faith. heh. I have to be in the mood to listen to screamier stuff most of the time, and apparently I am currently in the mood.

*peers at post* I seem to have picked up innerchorus's habit of linking to a million and one things. Also, random thought: when I am using more kleenex to pick up squished things that I just smushed with the box than I am to blow my nose, I am NOT HAPPY. Ugh. The humidity and gross dampness of everything *had* cleared up late Sunday, and then we got a whizbang of a thunderstorm in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and it came back worse. Yes, it's totally fucking backwards!!! *scowls at weather*

ETA: In her evil minion mode, thelackey did tag me for an everloving LONG meme, omgwtfdude. I haven't forgotten - but I ain't doing it tonight. :P

Ugh, do I *have* to go to work today? It's yet another gross, grey humid rainy day and I really wanna just crawl back into bed. *le sigh*

Part 2 of The Folly of Wayward Saints is up. For those of you who usually attempt to sneak it in at work, do it at your own risk. ;-)

The Folly of Wayward Saints, part 1 is up - this is the sequel to The Joy of Violent Movement. Yup, more Billie/Lars crack from looking_spiffy and I. :D Longwinded crack too, since that is part 1 of *5*!! Y'all didn't miss our none-too-subtle hints that we've been possessed, did ya? ;-)

For the past little while, I've made some allusions to working on some co-writing projects. Y'all know that leighrowena and I are into the so sick and wrong but OMG!FUN office supply porn *giggle*, but the other project, well.

The other project has been totally pwning both me and looking_spiffy lately, and here are the results: The Joy of Violent Movement. :D Or...part 1 thereof, anyway. You have to wait just a little bit longer for 2 and 3. *evil grin*

Considering that I stayed home Monday and left early Tuesday, it's been a long fucking week, lol. My energy levels aren't back to normal yet, and they ain't that high naturally anyway.

_somniac_, I am so glad you managed to post just a little bit in your drunken blissed-out state b/c I literally woke up this morning dreaming that I'd been chasing you all over the city b/c you forgot your camera. LOL! *SO* glad I'm not prophetic. :D

The brain-eating crossover is on the move again finally and I'm really hoping to churn a bunch out tonight, so I may very well ignore the lot of yas when I get home and hop right into Word. I figured out the part that was sticking it to me, yay. Wish I could just keep writing this morning but I need to go do that shower thing! Although with all the present-tense reading I've been doing lately, I find I'm making an error that I've NEVER been inclined to do before and tense-switching between past and present. It's pissing me right off. Easy enough to fix when I edit but annoying as hell for even happening in the first place. Oh, well.

ETA: I forgot to mention, it does have a title now: Downtown Whore. *winks at linzeestyle & piper47*
