I visited Yatai Zushi, the Sougawa-cho branch.
I was curious to see what unique offerings they might have in Toyama.
The fact that this restaurant opens early at 4 PM and has a spacious, clean interior is very appealing.
I prefer sitting at the counter where I can see the chefs at work, so I chose that option.
As shown in the photo, there are power outlets at the counter, which is quite convenient.
While enjoying the view of the chefs at work, I decided to order eel since they were preparing it at that moment.

The standout dish for me was the seafood chawanmushi (savory egg custard).

Next up was the half portion of the crispy potato salad, which I appreciated.
The finely shredded crispy potatoes were simply fantastic.
The eel had a tasty sauce, but I wasn't a fan of the soft skin, so I only enjoyed the meat.
The sansho pepper was a nice touch.
I also wanted to try a soup, but they only had red miso, so I had to pass on that.
I wish they had something more suited to Toyama's tastes...
I ordered snow crab as well, but along with the sweet shrimp, it wasn't quite to my liking.
Overall, I found Yatai Zushi, Sougawa-cho branch, to offer excellent cost performance.
I truly appreciated the half-price alcohol during early hours.
It was a great meal!
