Delicious Gyoza, especially the Chive Gyoza!
I returned to the nearby Chinese restaurant 'Koran'.
My last visit left me shocked by the fried rice and gyoza, but this time I decided to focus on beer and choose a few dishes instead.
Since gyoza is a specialty here, I couldn't miss it, so I ordered a healthy stir-fried pork and vegetables as my main dish.
The gyoza is made with chives and garlic, and it pairs perfectly with beer.
The stir-fried pork and vegetables emphasized the pork flavor, but I prefer a bolder seasoning.
I'll definitely stop by again.

I visited a local Chinese restaurant called Koran for dinner, which I've been curious about for a while.
The couple who runs it posted a sign saying they close at 8 PM due to their age.
Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure what to order, but when I think of Chinese food, I immediately think of fried rice and dumplings.
I was also quite hungry, so I ordered sweet and sour pork along with a beer.
The first dish to arrive was the fried rice.
Delicious! The seasoning was just to my liking.
The soup was tasty too, with a hint of ginger.
Next came the dumplings.
Once again, delicious! They were packed with garlic and chives, and I quickly devoured all six.
It seemed to be a popular item as I noticed customers coming in for takeout.
Finally, the sweet and sour pork arrived, and I was amazed by the generous portion.
The hot, crispy fried pork combined with the warm sweet and sour sauce was impressive.
It paired perfectly with the beer.
Although it's a casual neighborhood Chinese restaurant, the food was fantastic.
It was a great meal!

April 23, 2023, at Koran, a local Chinese restaurant in Ome City - Fried Rice and Gyoza.
I visited Koran after some time. I sat at the counter and browsed the menu, ultimately ordering my go-to combination of fried rice and gyoza.
While waiting, I could hear the sizzling sound of the fried rice coming from the kitchen—this sound really is a sign of deliciousness to come.
The fried rice is served with a broth. The soy sauce-based broth includes green onions, and since the fried rice is a little mild, it pairs beautifully with the soup. This combination enhances the flavor of the fried rice.
The gyoza is generously filled with chives and garlic, and you can see the vibrant green of the chives through the chewy skin. I prefer my gyoza with a crispier skin, but these were easy to eat and I finished them in no time.
It's an unpretentious neighborhood Chinese restaurant, but everything was delicious.
It was a great meal!
