Victory in a one-on-one showdown with a giant shrimp! And above all, the special squid salted fish for takeout is exquisite!
Shrimp and Oyster Fry Set Meal (Tax Included JPY 1,749). This dish features a shrimp fry with the tail and head intact, three oyster fries, rice, miso soup, a small bowl of unohana, and pickles.
The large shrimp was full of energy. Let's take a look at the tip. Everything it touches seems to get hurt. Clearly. Everyone, be careful!
Announcement of our special squid salted fish (Tax Included JPY 950), which even employees can't resist taking home. Upon closer inspection, the cool squid is saying, "It's so good, you can't help but love it!" Isn't that cannibalism? After seeing this, you can't help but want to buy it.
Restaurant exterior. The shape of the roof even resembles an ika (squid). ᔦ๑° ꒳ °๑ᔨ
Special Squid Salted Fermented Squid (Tax Included JPY 950). It was filled to the brim just below the lid.
This is the size. It's quite generous.
I served a portion to enjoy with a highball. The saltiness is just right, and the richness of the fish roe stands out, making it delicious. It's easy to see why employees buy it to take home. There might even be customers who just buy the salted fish roe without dining in.

On a drizzly Saturday evening at 8 PM, my family decided to go for a drive. We enjoyed the view of the glowing runway lights at Yokota Air Base on our way back from Hachioji, and we decided to stop for dinner at Washoku Restaurant Tonden.
The restaurant has a spacious single-floor layout, which reminds me somewhat of a bathhouse's dining area. After being shown to a table by the window, we each chose our preferred dishes. I opted for the shrimp and oyster fry set meal (JPY 1,749, tax included).
After placing our orders, I noticed an interesting announcement on the table.
Apparently, the special squid salted sac (JPY 950, tax included) is so good that even the employees can't resist taking it home! I couldn't help but chuckle at the talking squid, which said, "I'm so tasty, you won't believe it!" Wait a minute, isn't that a bit cannibalistic, guys?
Anyway, after seeing that, I felt I had to buy it. So, we decided to take some home.
About 15 minutes later, my plate arrived. It consisted of a shrimp fry with the head still on, three oyster fries, rice, miso soup, a small side of stewed vegetable, and pickles.
The highlight was undoubtedly the large shrimp. Just take a look at that! It looks like it could injure anything that touches it. Everyone, be careful!
With two pairs of chopsticks—one for the shrimp and one for me—it was an intense duel. Timing is key; I carefully closed the distance with my trembling chopsticks and finally caught the shrimp's body.
As I attempted to scoop some tartar sauce with the shrimp head, it fiercely resisted, barely dipping the tip. Determined not to back down, I bravely took a risky bite right from the head.
Wow, it's crunchy!
The batter seems a bit thick (it is winter after all), and the shrimp is slightly larger than average. The oyster fry was juicy and well-made.
Then, we safely returned home with the salted squid. Upon opening it, I was surprised to see it filled right up to the lid.
I took some out to enjoy with my highball. Often, salted seafood tends to be overly salty for preservation, but this one had just the right amount of salt, allowing the rich flavor of the squid's innards to shine through. I can totally understand why the employees buy this!
I wouldn't be surprised if there are customers who just come to purchase the salted squid without dining in.
Overall, I was more impressed by the special salted squid than by the meal itself.
Thank you for the great meal!
