On this day, four older men living along the Seibu Line gathered for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic subsided. Many familiar faces gathered together for the first time in a long time. At the meeting four years ago, it was decided that the next venue would be this restaurant. At that time, this store also had a branch in Musashi-seki. At that time, the owner had told me that they were planning to withdraw from Musashi-seki and focus solely on Tanashi, so we were planning to celebrate the opening of the Tanashi store, but then the coronavirus hit. After four years of delay, we are finally able to hold a party to celebrate our grand opening. The store is quite spacious. I had heard that it was a family business, and it seems that they are managing this large store very well. The four of us sat at a table and started with a toast. Some people have said they would like draft beer, but the best thing here is bottled beer. For bottled beer, the large 633 size will never disappoint. When you eat it raw, it sometimes comes in a really small size. What's more, the bottled beer here is Aka-Boshi. We toasted with beer (726 yen) and fresh lemon sour (495 yen). There was a charge of 150 yen for the appetizer. As we exchanged updates, one of us noticed that he was concerned about his blood sugar levels. So, in order to prevent a sudden rise in my blood sugar level, I first ordered some vegetable snacks. Orders are placed using tablets, which are popular these days. I ordered some healthy dishes, including a vegetable platter (495 yen), fresh ginger (440 yen), spinach and chrysanthemum (440 yen), pickled cabbage (330 yen), pickled tomatoes (429 yen), small smelts (572 yen), and stingray fins (628 yen). Thinking that this much vegetable would be enough, I ordered the restaurant's specialty skewers and meat dishes. After ordering the stew (517 yen), we had the skewers. We ordered dishes for everyone, such as white offal sauce (187 yen), kanra sauce (185 yen), pork belly salt (187 yen), and asparagus wrapped in meat (242 yen). The specialty of this restaurant is the fluffy white offal. On the other hand, the cheeks have a firm texture. The pork belly has a sweet taste of fat that never disappoints. The stew had no odor and the offal was soft. I also had the deep-fried tofu (572 yen), which was freshly fried, crisp on the outside and moist and hot inside, another great accompaniment to alcohol. Additional drinks available are 2 cups of Sugiyuu (1,056 yen), highball (440 yen), bottled lager beer (728 yen), Hoppy Black Set (495 yen), Hoppy Black Set Strong (545 yen), and Hoppy White Set (495 yen). Previously there was a wider selection of sake, but on this day the only pure rice sake available was Sugiyuu. I would be happy if they would offer a wider selection of sake as before. It was great value for money to eat and drink all this for less than 4,000 yen per person. What made me happiest was being able to meet up with the four of us who live along the line for the first time in a long time and seeing each other's cheerful faces. Thank you very much to the organizer, Pise-san, for your help this time.
