This soba restaurant is located just to the left of the north exit of Ekoda Station, right along the train tracks. The interior is spacious.
I spotted the Kayaku Rice and Soba Set Meal at the entrance, and when the staff came to take my order, I asked about it. I learned that it includes soba (with a choice of mori or kake), kayaku rice, a small side dish, and pickles. They mentioned that the soba is made with fresh buckwheat, so I decided on that without hesitation.
I also ordered a bottle of beer.
I had initially considered getting a rice bowl, but fresh soba is hard to resist.
After about five minutes of waiting while enjoying my beer, my meal was ready. It looked great!
I started by tasting the soba without any dipping sauce, and it was firm and slightly sweet. Then, I poured the dipping sauce into the soba cup and found it to have a perfect balance of flavor.
The kayaku rice was cooked relatively firm and had a strong aroma of shiitake mushrooms, which I really enjoyed.
The small side dish was miso-marinated eggplant.
The friendly staff made this a welcoming place that I would love to visit again.
