In love with the irresistible smashed cucumber that can't be replicated!
Let's start with the appetizers...
We kicked things off with the smashed cucumber!
It's incredibly delicious!
It seems easy to make, but it's actually quite difficult...
I just can't replicate that flavor!
I’ve known that Peking Duck has been on the menu for a while, but surprisingly, many people don’t know about it...
Feeling in the mood for it today, I ordered it.
The taste speaks for itself! It was absolutely amazing!
And the portion was just right for two people!
Shrimp Chili and Gyoza are reliable menu items.
The gyoza comes on a plate for one order, but for two orders, it’s served in a cast iron pan.
However, ordering this makes it hard to enjoy anything else because it’s gigantic!
I always find myself debating whether to order it for a different reason.
The steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce are surprisingly popular among those in the know.
I love it and often choose it when I want one more dish.
Black beans are the best!
Next time, I definitely want to have the cucumber and Peking Duck again!
Worth the trip, even if it's a bit far!
On weekends, it's common to wait... but if you're lucky, you might get a table at this popular spot. Here’s what I ordered this time:
◻︎ Stir-fried Vegetables with Egg Wrap
I secretly got this recommendation from the customer next to me. It looks amazing, so I ordered it right away.
The stir-fried vegetables are topped with a thin omelet.
The taste is, of course, fantastic! You can enjoy the omelet on its own or together with the vegetables!
◻︎ Stir-fried Oysters with Doubanjiang
This is currently my favorite dish. It’s incredibly delicious.
There are plenty of plump oysters, and the dish is seasoned with a rich flavor from the doubanjiang.
More than half of the customers order this popular menu item!
It pairs perfectly with both drinks and rice!
◻︎ Sautéed Beef with Green Peppers
A classic menu item.
No one dislikes this dish.
◻︎ Char Siu
I ordered this for the first time, and it was quite tasty.
It has a concentrated flavor.
This is the sweet char siu you often see hanging in Chinese restaurants!
The portion is just right.
This restaurant is generous with its portions, so even if you can’t finish, you can take leftovers home. This means you don’t have to worry about wasting food, even if you go with two people.
A diverse menu! Amazing flavors and generous portions!
Chinese cuisine can be tricky when dining as a pair since you can't order many dishes.
Fortunately, this restaurant offers an incredible volume of food.
This time, we ordered three dishes:
The plump oysters paired with black bean sauce were simply perfect!
The beef miso stir-fry, reminiscent of Peking duck, is a crowd-pleaser.
Since the portions are quite filling, we opted for lettuce wraps instead of thin dumplings.
The spare ribs with their spicy seasoning made everything even more enjoyable.
Everything was truly delicious.
This is definitely a place worth visiting.
Not only the food but the drinks are generous too!
I received a rock glass filled to the brim with shochu—three servings worth!
A level of quality you wouldn't expect from local Chinese food!
I wanted to share this place that you absolutely have to try!
I visited on a Sunday before 7 PM with two adults.
I called earlier in the day to make a reservation, but they were fully booked.
We decided to go without a reservation and luckily, we managed to get a table. What a stroke of luck!
All the menu items are quite generous in portion size.
If you're with about four people, you can share a variety of dishes, but with just two, your options may be limited.
However, if you do have leftovers, you can take them home, which is very considerate.
Here's what we ordered:
◎Steamed Chicken with Green Onion Sauce
The green onion sauce is incredibly delicious!
It comes out quickly and is definitely recommended as a starter.
◎Stir-Fried Beef Strips with Miso in Lettuce Wraps
This was the highlight of the night!
It has a flavor similar to Peking duck.
I chose the lettuce wrap over the thin pancake because it can fill you up.
It's dramatically tasty!
◎Spicy Stir-Fried Angel Shrimp
The shrimp are deep-fried first and then stir-fried with a spice powder.
There's plenty of garlic, making it a great dish to pair with drinks!
◎Shrimp in Chili Sauce
This is generously sauced! The shrimp are firm and fresh.
It was a bit spicy that day.
◎3 Draft Beers
◎1 Yasuragi Barley Shochu on the Rocks
◎2 servings of Shaoxing Rice Wine
The menu is extensive.
Despite being a local Chinese restaurant, the taste, cost performance, and portion size are all outstanding!
The large shrimp chili is incredibly delicious!
The shrimp is plump and paired with an exquisite sauce.
However, the price has gone up by JPY 500 due to rising costs, so I deducted one star.
Overall, the other menu items are also delicious and hearty.
Prices are generally increasing.

Whenever I crave Chinese food, I always come to Kouya.
It's a local Chinese restaurant, but it offers outstanding dishes that have become my favorites.
The casual atmosphere makes it easy to drop in, which is a plus.
Most people tend to order the classics like shrimp chili, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, and dumplings, but my top recommendation is the Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce!
This dish is also on the menu at a famous restaurant in Chinatown, but it's so delicious that it can become addictive.
The meat is tender, and the sweetness of the black beans adds depth to the flavor.
The meat separates easily from the bone, making it very easy to eat.
Today, we ordered one plate per person.
Many people may not know this, but I also love the Peking Duck here.
You should definitely give it a try!
