On a warm afternoon, I can feel spring approaching.
As the day draws nearer to bidding farewell to Gotanda due to a workplace transfer this spring, I find myself exploring new restaurants in the city.
Today, I headed to trattoria e poi for lunch, a top-ranked spot on Tabelog, relying on my map app to guide me there.
I arrived at the second floor of a building housing the well-known security company BONDS.
I was guided to the counter in front of the open kitchen.
For my meal, I ordered the pasta of the day: Peperoncino with Bluefin Tuna, Japanese Radish, and Mizuna (with a three-item assorted appetizer plate and a drink!) for JPY 1100.
First, I enjoyed the appetizer plate:
Cold Pumpkin Soup
(The refreshing cold soup is perfect for this spring-like weather! Good!!)
Marinated Sea Bream from Ehime Prefecture
(I think it’s dressed with olive oil and lemon juice? It’s light and So Good!!)
Zeppoline, a traditional dish from Naples, Italy
(These are fried dough mixed with seaweed, served hot and crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, with a delightful saltiness and fresh scent of the ocean.)
Then came the main dish:
Peperoncino with Bluefin Tuna, Japanese Radish, and Mizuna.
I swapped Mizuna for Mitsuba. The Bluefin Tuna was from the jaw part.
First off, the plate was warm. Nice touch.
The jaw meat was incredibly tender, with a subtle saltiness reminiscent of the sea, paired with al dente pasta.
It was a lovely lunch.
Thank you very much for reading my review to the end. If you’re interested in this restaurant, please give it a like or save it.
