This Michelin two-star restaurant is nestled in a back alley of Nishi-Azabu. The charming chef hails from Saga Prefecture, and the ingredients are primarily sourced fresh from his hometown, including local vegetables, seafood, and Saga beef.
- Hokkaido Ezo Abalone, Shogo-in Daikon, Matsuba Crab
- Botan Shrimp, Mizuna, and Uruoi
- Grilled Fugu Shirako with Soy Sauce, Black Shichimi
- Kue, Shiitake, Katsuo Greens, and Turnip with Snow Grated Sauce
- Saga Imari Beef Sirloin Cap with Fuki Miso
- Fried Fugu with White Shichimi
- Kansai-style Grilled Eel
- Clay Pot Rice with Pickles and Miso Soup
- Chili Leaf Miso Rice Ball with Nanban Miso
- Caramel Ice Cream Monaka
The exquisite dishes served in beautiful tableware elevate the experience, showcasing the carefully selected ingredients. Each bite brought a delightful surprise to my senses, leaving me in awe of the flavors and textures.
I was amazed by the tenderness of the large Ezo abalone, while the grilled fugu shirako had a rich flavor that burst forth with every bite. The Kue was flavorful and fatty, and the fried fugu was satisfyingly meaty. The Imari beef was astonishingly tender, sweet, and juicy, with the fat being deliciously sweet as well. The Kansai-style grilled eel was my first experience, and it was soft and crispy, not steamed.
The rice, cooked in a clay pot, was "Yume Shizuku" from Saga Prefecture, each grain glossy and distinct. Despite being full, I couldn't resist going for seconds. The chef even made rice balls for me, perfectly seasoned with salt, making them incredibly delicious.
Each dish offered a refined umami while also providing a comforting sense of warmth, truly touching my heart.
The only option available is the omakase course. The restaurant features counter and table seating, with a selection of sake and spirits primarily from Kyushu, allowing me to enjoy a blissful evening!
It was a great meal!
