Creamy Porcini and Mushroom Pasta with Unmatched Aroma and Texture
Impressive Salad and Fresh Pasta
Salads are often just a side dish, something you add for health reasons, like throwing on a coat over your pajamas when heading to the nearby convenience store at night to look presentable. That's usually how salads are in most lunches.
However, this place is different. The salad features crisp greens mixed with seasonal fruit slices, generously topped with cheese, and on this day, a balsamic sauce with pineapple was perfectly balanced. And it’s served in a big bowl, making it feel like a meal in itself.
Of course, I had a draft beer, but that wasn't enough to finish the salad, so I ordered a glass of white wine as well.
For the main, I chose the chewy fresh pasta with bacon and edamame in tomato sauce from three options. It was very satisfying.
This came with a small dessert of mango and panna cotta ice cream, along with a post-meal drink. All of this for just JPY 1000. I’m so glad to have found a place in Ikebukuro that offers both quality and quantity!

This is a restaurant I fondly remember for the delicious salads and generous portions I had during a previous lunch visit. This time, I was looking for a place that opens early in the evening, and I found that this one opens at 5 PM, so I decided to stop by after calling ahead.
The option to order a la carte makes it convenient for lighter meals, and there’s something enjoyable about being able to choose as much of what you love as you want.
I started with the bacon and watercress salad (JPY 1,045, tax included). The robust flavor of the large pieces of bacon provided a gratifying experience that was much more than just a salad. I also tried the prosciutto (JPY 550) as a wine appetizer, which had just the right balance of saltiness. The garlic shrimp and mushroom ajillo (JPY 1,045) had a rich flavor with delicious oil infused with umami, perfect for soaking up with the garlic toast (JPY 275).
The grilled Angus beef (JPY 2,530) was tender and juicy. It was quite a large portion, so perhaps I could have been a bit more mindful of the earlier dishes.
Still wanting to try a finale, I ordered the cream pasta with porcini mushrooms and mushrooms (JPY 1,540), which they served family-style for two. The rich aroma of the porcini sauce was outstanding. The fresh pasta was chewy and clung perfectly to the sauce. It was simply the best.
There was a good variety of red and white wine by the glass, but only those opened that day were available. Everything, including sparkling options, was priced at JPY 770. This is a great price for wine lovers. We both enjoyed four glasses of wine, with the Chardonnay and Merlot being particularly tasty. In total, it came to about JPY 6,700 per person.
In the kitchen, there was one chef, and in the dining area, a charming woman handled everything, working quickly while always wearing a bright smile, which added to the restaurant’s warm atmosphere. It’s a wonderful place.
