なんかガッツリ行きたくなったので : Steak no Don Kamio Ten

So, here I am in Ageo.
After a visit to the dentist, I was quite hungry, so I decided to have an early dinner here.
I just made it in time for the lunch menu.
I chose the Hamburg Steak and a half Chicken & Fried White Fish.
With soup and rice included, it was quite a good deal.
The Fried White Fish was served hot, and when dipped in tartar sauce, it was bursting with flavor. Personally, I would prefer a sauce tartar, but I tried it with steak sauce instead.
The Chicken was light and paired well with either onion sauce or soy sauce.
The Hamburg Steak was juicy and packed with flavor, making it a perfect match with either onion or soy sauce, enhancing the rice.
I was able to eat a good amount of rice and felt very satisfied.
It was a great meal.

So, I've come to Kitakami-Akagi.
The weather has become quite mild, and my appetite is finally coming back, leading me to crave grilled dishes, which is why I chose this place.
Today’s daily specials are the Cheese Hamburg and Fried White Fish, so I decided to go for those.
The hamburg steak is topped with demiglace sauce and cheese. The combination of the rich flavor from the beef and the demiglace sauce with cheese is simply delicious.
The demiglace sauce really enhances the meat's flavor.
I tried the parts without sauce with onion sauce and soy sauce, but they didn't pair well. The cheese is perfectly complemented by the demiglace sauce.
The fried white fish has a crispy batter and tastes great with tartar sauce. Personally, I like to drizzle a bit more sauce on it.
It was a great meal!

On this day, I visited to check if gift certificates could be used.

I chose the Don Hamburg Steak with a salad and drink bar set.
When you order a main dish, rice and soup are included. You can also refill the rice and soup as much as you like.
The soups are egg soup and onion soup. The onion soup has few ingredients but is rich in onion flavor, while the egg soup has a gentle taste with a chicken broth base.
The hamburg steak comes with the classic demi-glace sauce. The burger is a soft type, a basic yet reliable choice.
Overall, the flavors are quite light. There is salt and pepper available at the drink bar corner, which you can sprinkle over the burger to enhance the taste.
Adding salt brings out more depth in the flavor.

It was a great meal.

I was craving meat after a while, so I decided to check this place out.
Today, I chose to visit for Monday lunch.
The menu has changed a bit.
The wakame soup was slightly less salty than before, but I would prefer it a bit lighter.
The consomme has its usual comforting taste.

I ordered a dish with Hamburg steak, chicken steak, and cut pork, accompanied by potatoes and beans.

The pork was drizzled with a little garlic sauce.
The meat itself was mild and had a nice texture.
The chicken steak was tender, with a crispy skin, making it delicious.
The Hamburg steak was a soft blend of meats that paired perfectly with the onion sauce.

It was a great meal.

While on my way to do some shopping, I decided to stop here for a quick lunch.

They offer a weekly lunch special, but without any pictures, it’s hard to get an idea.
The meal comes with soup, so I enjoyed some seaweed soup and onion soup while I waited.
The seaweed soup had a familiar taste.
The onion soup had crunchy onions and a slightly spicy flavor.
The mini salad was surprisingly substantial and a good deal, but it was quite difficult to eat.
There are disposable chopsticks available at the drinks bar, which made it easier to eat with chopsticks.
I wish the dressing were a bit more flavorful.
The bento box included stir-fried cabbage and bean sprouts along with some meat. The meat portion was rather small, and it was seasoned with a ponzu-like sauce.
For a five hundred yen lunch, I suppose this is what I can expect.

I went for a late lunch hoping to try the weekly special, but it was sold out.

It seems that there are fewer customers lately, so I had to wait to be seated.

I chose the lunch set, which included a Hamburg steak, chicken steak, and fried chicken.
The only side vegetable was broccoli, so I think I'll order a salad next time.

The Hamburg steak was soft, and the sauce made of onion and soy sauce complemented the meat well.
The chicken was reliably delicious.
The fried chicken had a slightly tougher texture; it might not be necessary to include it.

Unfortunately, the rice was clumpy. I ended up leaving most of it.

There wasn’t enough dressing, so I ended up giving up halfway through.
The Hamburg Steak Curry was topped only with a sauce.
There was a salad on the side.
In hindsight, I probably didn't need to order the mini salad since it came with the meal.
It’s hard to choose without a picture.
The curry rice had a generous portion of rice, which might be good for those with a hearty appetite.

It was a great meal.

I skipped breakfast for a health checkup that morning, so by the end of the examination, I was famished.

While I intended to treat myself to some meat, I ended up choosing the daily lunch special along with a salad.
The soup comes with it, which is a nice bonus, and it's great that there are two options.
The flavors are relatively strong, almost on the salty side, but it certainly whets the appetite.

The salad offers a good portion for the price during lunch, making it a great option when you want to get your veggies in.

The Hamburg steak is quite authentic and delicious, even at lunchtime. I personally recommend the soy sauce.
However, I was slightly disappointed this time because the teppan was lukewarm and the rice was clumped together.

For some reason, I decided to try a TKG (Tamago Kake Gohan).

It was a great meal!

I visited Steak no Don.

It was a slightly late lunch.
I chose the Beef Tongue and Hamburg Steak set, along with a mini salad.
The salad was surprisingly generous for the price, which is great when you're craving vegetables.
The Beef Tongue was more tender than I expected, and the salt sauce was delightful.
The Hamburg Steak was also a satisfying dish with a good meaty texture.
During lunch hours, it comes with soup, making it a great deal.

It was a great meal.

I decided to treat myself to steak for lunch as a reward for finishing work.

Previously, they had a budget-friendly lunch menu, but now it has changed to the 700 yen range.

I ordered the cut steak set with salad and the drink bar.

The paper napkins were a bit fancy.

During lunch hours, rice and soup are included and free refills are available.

I can't help but compare it to Ken's Steak, but I think the soup and rice here are better. Plus, you get refills.

The drink bar at Steak no Don is definitely better.

They have a wide variety of teas and juices.
The coffee cups and saucers being warmed up is a nice touch.

Also, the toothpicks have something minty on them, which freshens up your mouth.

There are places where you can get a salad, curry, and rice with free refills when you order steak, but if the salad were to be refillable, I’d probably choose this place even if I couldn’t refill the curry.

If you're looking to eat heartily, go with Ken’s Steak; if you want a relaxing drink time after your meal, go for Steak no Don.

For those with smaller appetites, I recommend Steak no Don.

**Second Visit:** I had the rib steak.

**Third Visit:** I tried the Mixed Grill A. Rice and soup are refillable, and the cost-performance is surprisingly good.

**Fourth Visit:** I ended up having steak again.

**Fifth Visit:** I ordered both the Hamburg and the cut steak.

**Sixth Visit:** I had the Don Hamburg with a mini salad and the drink bar. The teriyaki sauce that came as a default was a bit too sweet for my taste. The side pasta was also quite sweet, so it might be better to opt for the onion sauce that comes with it. I found the onion soup to be a bit too salty as well. I would prefer it to be slightly lighter.
This time the rice was clumped together. I ordered the large size, and while I felt bad about leaving some behind, I couldn't finish it this time.
