A Unique Sushi Spot Discovered in Tosu
Tosu is like my backyard.
In fact, there's a friend's house just about 30 meters away where I used to hang out, so I'm quite familiar with the area.
Anyway, I casually walked into this place called Sushi Cafe, drawn by the intriguing sign.
I ordered the sushi lunch without much thought.
The moment I tasted the first piece of squid, I was like, "Wow!"
I was genuinely surprised!
I had assumed it would be some average, local sushi, considering it was in the Tosu area, but to my astonishment, it was authentic Edomae-style sushi! (laughs)
And it was delicious! The strong flavor of the red vinegar pairs well with both lunchtime sushi and evening drinks!
It's great that they're using fresh wasabi at this price point!
The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) with tonburin and cream sauce reminded me of a well-known restaurant, and it was fantastic as well! Ψ( 'ч' ☆)
I initially entered Sushi Cafe with lowered expectations, but now I feel I have to come back for dinner, so I quickly made a reservation before leaving. ∠(￣^￣)
I'll be back next week!

My last visit was for lunch, and it exceeded my expectations, so I made a reservation for dinner today.
This time, I'm dining at the counter. ∠(￣^￣)
After snapping a photo of the sushi display, the course begins right away.
The freshly made sushi rice is soft and delicious.
For appetizers, there are a few small dishes between the sushi that are delightful.
Even though there were only a few options, each was enjoyable!(ت )
The course I had this time was priced at JPY 11,000, but I felt it was quite satisfying.
I noticed there are courses available starting from JPY 5,500 as well.
Considering the quality of the ingredients, I found I preferred the less expensive options, and I wondered if the JPY 5,500 or even the JPY 8,000 course might actually offer a better overall experience. (* 'ᵕ' )☆
One of the charms of this place seems to be enjoying various Japanese sakes on the chef's omakase menu.

This area feels like a garden; it has a cozy atmosphere.
