The original "Unagi Kobayashi" was not this restaurant in Kami-Suwa, but a restaurant in Shimo-Suwa.
In April 2006, the president of Shimo-Suwa's "Unagi Kobayashi" opened a new restaurant here in Kami-Suwa, "Unagi Kobayashi." The president and other craftsmen who were based in Shimo-Suwa have all moved to this restaurant (Kami-Suwa).
However, the chairman of Unagi Kobayashi in Shimo-Suwa (6153-11 Kohanmachi Minami, Shimo-Suwacho) remains in the restaurant and continues to operate, so there are now two Unagi Kobayashi restaurants in Suwa.
A long-established restaurant is "Unagi Kobayashi" in Shimo-Suwa.
Recently opened is "Unagi Kobayashi" in Kami-Suwa.
