I've been visiting this place since I was little. You can park in front of the store as well as on the opposite side of the narrow road. There are counter seats, table seating, and tatami room options available. Besides the special miso ramen, the gyoza and curry are delicious, but the chashu (braised pork) is truly exceptional. I highly recommend trying it!

Visit to Peacock on 2014-01-05
I visited "Peacock" in Higashimatsushima City, a place I used to frequently go to whenever I returned home.
Although I used to visit often, I haven't been there much recently, so it had been a year since my last visit.
If you’re driving, take National Route 45 towards Ishinomaki. If you’re using public transport, get off at Higashi-Yahato Station on the Senseki Line and walk.
It’s close to my home, so I stopped by on my way back from shopping.
This time, I was with my mother.
Lately, I had heard rumors that the chef had changed and that the quality of the food had declined, which made me somewhat anxious.
"Could this be the end of the Peacock we know..."
However, it turned out to be unnecessary worry.
This time, I ordered the "Special Miso Chashu Ramen" (JPY 900) and "Gyoza" (JPY 350).
First, let’s talk about the food and flavor.
The rich miso broth clings perfectly to the yellow curly noodles. The noodles themselves have a subtle sweetness and are delicious.
The chashu is tender, but not overly so, providing just the right amount of chewiness.
The portion size is impressive as well.
As for the gyoza, they seemed a bit less juicy compared to before, but the level of crispiness was absolutely perfect.
Now, regarding the service.
The staff, as rumored, had changed. There was one woman and two men in the kitchen, along with one older gentleman at the back—four people in total.
When I paid, they greeted me with smiles, leaving a very refreshing impression.
The only minor concern was the somewhat loud sound of the refrigerator door slamming shut, but overall, the service was quite pleasant.
As for the atmosphere, the interior hasn’t changed much from before.
The only difference was that the menu displayed in the restaurant is now handwritten. The wooden decor and the layout with a counter and tatami seating remain the same.
The cost performance is quite good.
First, the special miso chashu ramen includes ingredients like carrots, onions, cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, menma, green onions, minced meat, bean sprouts, and four pieces of chashu.
With such a large portion for JPY 900, I think it’s reasonable.
Considering all of these points, I give it an overall rating of 4.0.
I have known this establishment for nearly 30 years now, and I hope they will continue for a long time.
Thank you, "Peacock," for a wonderful visit on January 5, 2014!

Special Miso Ramen.
This delicious miso soup, based on chicken骨 broth, is infused with the sweetness of vegetables and Japanese ground pork, making it wonderfully aromatic and flavorful! The homemade chashu made from Japanese pork is also exquisite. JPY 900, tax included.
