On my way back from drinks with colleagues after work, I thought it would be nice to grab some soba. A coworker recommended this place, and I decided to follow their suggestion.
I was surprised to find such a restaurant in this area, and I felt a bit embarrassed about my lack of research.
We were taken to a private room and ordered soba. I heard that the soba is from Otoineppu, but since I’ve never been there to try it, I can’t really judge its authenticity.
The flavor wasn’t very sharp with soy sauce or salt; perhaps it’s because the soba itself has a rich taste. I definitely felt that it was different from the soba styles in Tokyo, Nagano, or Yamagata.
However, by this point, I had already had quite a few drinks, so my mind wasn’t really working to analyze the flavors. On the flip side, it might not have been a bad choice for that kind of occasion.
