I took off my rain gear at Okazaki P.A. and started driving with renewed focus. The surrounding cars were going at quite the pace, but I made safety my priority and maintained my own pace—though I wasn’t going too slowly, haha.
I arrived safely at my accommodations, but the last 500 meters were quite steep, so I’ll need to be careful going down tomorrow.
With nearly 320 kilometers of highway driving under my belt, I decided to indulge in a relaxing soak in the hot springs. I enjoyed the outdoor bath, then the indoor bath, and took two rounds in the sauna for about an hour and a half.
Dinner was a choice between 5:30 PM or 7:30 PM, so of course, I chose the latter. After soaking in the bath again starting at 6:30 PM, it was time to crack open a beer as soon as I got out, haha.
I opted for a simple kaiseki dinner from the selection available.
I’m staying at a place near Yunoyama Onsen at the foot of Mount Gozaisho, but it’s also close to the sea...
Well, the local fare is a highlight here.
Between courses, I enjoyed some grilled fish and fried dishes before moving on to the final course.
For dessert, I had a lovely pear pudding accompanied by mango.
It wasn’t tiring driving, but I’ll rest early tonight. (=_=)
