Lively Atmosphere Even at Night
My wife wanted to eat Chinese fried rice, so we visited this place after a long time.
Since we had a driver, I ordered a shochu with hot water, and it came with sunflower seeds as a snack.
It was my first experience with sunflower seeds... they weren't bad, but they weren't particularly delicious either, haha.
The Chinese fried rice and gyoza were both quite tasty.
First Visit
Located along the popularly known Milk Road, I had passed by this restaurant many times but never visited until now.
It always seems bustling, and there are times when the parking lot in front is completely full.
Upon entering, there are tatami seating on the right and table and counter seating on the left.
The interior is more spacious than it appears from outside, with a good number of tables.
The kitchen was run by two men, while two women managed the front.
The customer base consisted mainly of hard-working men.
There was a display of the daily Chinese lunch box at the entrance that tempted me, but I prefer to stick to the basic menu during my first visits.
I ordered the ramen and rice set (JPY 650, tax included) along with gyoza (JPY 380, tax included).
The ramen had a distinctly local Chinese flavor.
The toppings included half a boiled egg, chashu, menma, bean sprouts, and chopped green onions.
The gyoza came in a convenient bite-sized portion of six.
Rice is available for unlimited refills.
While the cost-performance seems good, the flavor was rather average.
When I come back next time, I'd like to try the daily Chinese lunch box.
I paid using a GTE meal voucher plus JPY 30.

A house restaurant |
I visited with my family on a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks to its great location along Milk Road, the restaurant is always bustling during lunch hours, often with no parking available.
I thought it might be full, but luckily found one parking spot open, so we went inside.
There was a table available in the raised tatami area, allowing us to be seated right away.
I ordered the daily special without hesitation, as it’s my personal favorite.
Today’s offering was fried horse mackerel and shrimp with chili egg sauce.
It was delicious!
