This restaurant is located along National Route 23, making it easily accessible, but it’s known for frequently changing its offerings.
Personally, I tend to notice ramen shops and if the timing is right, I find myself stopping by to eat.
So, for those who aren’t particularly fond of ramen, their experience at this restaurant might differ.
This was my first visit, and I heard that it was supposed to close at the end of April, but somehow it has continued operations. Even though it was my first time here, I felt compelled to support it.
Ordering through the tabletop touch panel is a modern fast-food style, which is quite innovative for a ramen shop.
I was seated at a table, but the low partition between tables gave off an aura of being cost-effective, which didn’t reflect in the ramen prices. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere, making it hard to relax.
There’s nothing wrong with being budget-friendly, but the design issue was that the lower part of the partition had holes, making me wonder if it even served its purpose, as I could see the feet of the person next to me from certain angles. It was a bit unsettling.
Before I knew it, my order arrived.
◯ Rich Pork Bone Tsukemen - JPY 1,050
◯ Set Meal - Dried Sardine Rice - JPY 300
Upon researching the restaurant, I found out that it’s a sister restaurant of Shio Gensui!
I’ve heard that Shio Gensui is delicious, so even though I haven’t tried it, my expectations rose.
That day, I was in the mood for rich tsukemen, so I made my choice!
The noodles looked great, and they had the expected thick texture. The dipping sauce was concentrated with the flavors of pork, chicken, and fish, simmered for 30 hours to achieve a mellow taste.
When I dipped the noodles into the sauce, I found that while it had a rich flavor, it was quite salty, making it a bit challenging to continue eating as is, so I added some vinegar from the table.
Even then, it didn’t reach a sufficient saltiness, and when I tried the dried sardine rice, it also had a bit of saltiness, so it didn’t quite reset my palate.
While the menu had a lot of options, it didn’t exceed my expectations.
Since this restaurant specializes in natural salt, I’d like to try the shio ramen next time.
It was a great meal!
